Very Playable

This was our first time playing The Legacy while attending Spring Training. The staff were amazing and the course was in incredible shape. The greens rolled amazing and you got what you saw, no guessing.
The wind was howling so we just moved up to the next set of tees and made it a bit more playable for our group.
We came early and opted to eat breakfast in the restaurant. The food was good but the service was a bit slow getting your food out to your table but we managed to get a short warm up on the range before being called to the first tee.
When we completed our round, the cart return employee cleaned our clubs and offered to put them in their secured area while we went in for a beer. When we came out, my clubs had been stolen and my care keys were in my bag. We were do to check out of our rental house in the morning and drive back to California so this created some really difficult challenges.
The staff has been amazing thus far working with me to replace my clubs and the contents of my bag as well as reimburse me for the Uber rides home and the crazy cost of having the dealer cut new keys.
When I was super upset, their compassion and concern for our well being was enough to bring me down a bit to know that the stuff can be replaced. The cart employee, Daniel, was so kind as to take my friends back to our rental house after his shift, I think Daniel felt worse about this event than I did.
The Legacy was a course that I would return to play again next year and the compassion of the Golf Manager Tony and, of course, Daniel told me a lot about the integrity they have running a first class operation. Just take the time to put your clubs away before going in for a beer.

Excellent! We're thrilled that you enjoyed your first experience with us. We're glad that our course conditions met your expectations and that our staff left a great impression on you. We are so deeply sorry that your clubs were stolen and that you had to deal with the aftermath of that situation. We're glad that we were able to help in some capacity and that we were able to try and make it right. We appreciate your kind words and your understanding. We can't wait to have you back again soon at The Legacy!

This has the WOW factor

This was the last course we played on our trip down to San Diego and my gosh, it was definitely saving the best for last. The drive into the course had you looking around at how green and lush the course looked and the landscape that was either man made or natures own had your attention.
The staff was prompt in receiving our bags and taking them down to the carts and pointed us in the right direction since it was our first time there. Check in was easy and the staff were friendly and got us going down to our carts.
The views of the ocean and landscape on the first hole made you just take a deep breath and appreciate that you had the opportunity to be there that day. The course conditions were the best I have played on this year and the greens were quick but true. The fairways were pretty generous off the tee but the challenge is your approach shots into some raised and undulating greens.
The marshals on the course did a good job keeping the pace of play up and we were done in about four and a half hours. Take advantage of the big fairways and manage your shot to your favorite yardage to approach these greens. Your misses are better on the pin side of the green than away to the opposite side with all the undulations and elevation changes.
Stop in for a drink and some food at the grill and definitely sit outside. Beat your friends to the punch and grab the chair that faces the ocean so you can take another deep breath, take a drink and enjoy the incredible view.

Really nice resort

My friends and I played this course for the first time and really enjoyed the course and the resort. It was easy to find off the 15 freeway and the walk from the parking lot to the pro shop took you by the nice landscape and restaurant.
The staff checked us in and we started our round about 15 beyond our tee time as we were pushed back for a scramble tournament that was still playing through the first hole. The tournament was with, what appeared to be, Super Seniors who moved very slowly and slowed things down quite a bit but we managed.
The course was in amazing shape and though the greens had a little bit of sand on them, they rolled pretty quick and the sand did not appear to affect our putts. Only we affected our putts!!!
Though you were close to the interstate, you could not hear any of the road noise. But, you were close to the Miramar Air Station and there were several flights of F-18's that flew over and they were REALLY LOUD but it was actually pretty cool to look up and see them fly in formation.
I would definitely recommend having something to eat at the restaurant after your round. The service was really good, friendly and the food was spectacular.

Worth the drive

My friends and I took a three day golf trip down to San Diego. A mutual friend of ours at work recommended Arrowood as one of our three rounds of golf on our trip.
We booked a tee time, only $57 for the round, and played on our way down to S.D. We paid double for courses comparable the rest of our trip.
We arrived to a friendly staff who got us checked in, got us some range balls, and got us going on time. The course was in really good shape and the greens rolled at a good pace rolled pretty true. We had to guess our way around on a couple of holes but it was not too difficult to manage this course.
The scenery around the course was amazing, lots of animals and agriculture all around you and it made it nice peaceful of a round.
I would recommend the drive down there for a day if you are not a local and if you are a local, I would probably play this course a couple of times a month.

From first to worse.

Primm used to be a first class resort for golfers. They used to have cross cut fairways that looked like a baseball outfield and greens that were pristine and quick. Over the past few years, the course has deteriorated in quality and the staff said that's because the MGM owns this resort now and they take good care of their other course and they are the step child out there.

They had done their seasonal maintenance but they still have several types of grasses and weeds growing in the fairways. The greens were punched but also had some weeds and so many bare spots that you could tell would never grow in.

They overbooked a tournament on the Desert Course and thus, moved us to the Lakes Course. There were no carts available for the guests playing the Lakes Course and as guests who were finishing their morning rounds, carts were being diverted over to the tournament. There were a lot of carts in the cart barn but the staff informed us that they were in various states of disrepair for one reason or another.

We got off the tee over an hour past our tee time and were still waiting for carts for our group. The staff told us that it would be at least another forty minutes before they could get us carts. We opted to tee off and walk until such point, the staff would bring us carts. We walked almost the entire front nine before we found some water and staff showed up with carts. We told them that this was unacceptable and something needs to be done about it. They just advised us to go complain to the Pro when we completed our round.

The Pro was advised that we would be coming there after our round and we were not happy. His first words to us were "You guys don't look to worse for the wear"! Wow, really! How about, I'm really sorry for the inconvenience, that's not the type of program we run here and let us refund your green fees for you. Instead, it was "I'm sorry but I'm not authorized to make that decision"! At this time he just gave us the MGM's golf management supervisors card. The Pro said he noticed how big that tournament was getting two days prior to our arrival and thought "Hmm, this is going to be a problem"! Yet still managed to plan poorly for the day in question.

We threw the card away figuring he would not even answer his phone, when it was a complaint it may just result in a comped round at a future date knowing we would never drive back out from L.A to play a round of golf at what has turned into an over priced municipal course.

This is the last time we ever play Primm and ever recommend Primm to our associates.
