Crooked Tree Golf Course
Played On 05/25/2015Nice change
The course is a good change from some of the more bizarrely difficult ones around Tucson. eg, no trees in the middle of the approach shots & challenging but not impossible greens. If the course had real sand in the bunkers instead of muddy ground gravel I would give it 5 stars. We had fun!

First, we were charged wrong (not the discounted rate we booked for) and are still trying to straighten out credit card charge. Next, no cart was available, had to wait for a cart to come in off the course. Then we were told to play Pinon/Meadows, then changed to Pinon/Ponderosa, then changed back to Pinon/Meadows. Meadows was FULL of goose stuff. Cart paths poorly maintained, not graded, full of deep potholes making speed from green to tee hazardous. Fairways cut to more like first cut rough. Based on advertising and reviews, we expected a reasonably maintained course--NOT

Played On 07/01/2014Reconstructed 18th hole open
Played on a GolfNow "hot deal", excellent value, at 2:30 pm, VERY windy, course not busy but the 2 of played alone and had to wait for a twosome ahead of us on several holes. Still we finished in just over 4 hr.
Copper Creek Golf Club
Played On 06/29/2014Bunker full of stagnant water
Greens hard and rough; swampy areas on fairways and roughs; one bunker full of stagnant water. Stunning views on every hole; fun to have our picture standing on the highest elevation tee in N.America.

For the price, this course should be made very easy to navigate for the many golfers playing here for the first time. NOT SO! Inadequate signage at decision points on cart paths, no course map on the scorecard. Too many "cart path only" holes, given the steep, hilly terrain where walking at 9000+ feet gets exhausting. At the price, bunkers should be pristine, not muddy and filled with course "sand" that's more the texture of ground gravel. Greens VERY hard, even a well played approach shot usually would not stay on the green. Our pace of play was extremely slow because we were paired with 2 players who took 2-3 practice swings on every shot + had excessive conversation going on + looking and looking for lost balls. And the 3 players behind us were playing "best ball", hitting into our fairway more than once. All in all, not a pleasant experience, and should I say again that it's overpriced??

Hard to accept a 45 min frost delay when the low night temp was over 45 degrees.
El Conquistador Golf & Tennis - Pusch X9 Course

On booking what was believed to be 18 hole rate, on arrival were informed it was for only 9 holes. 18 hole rate would have worked out to be as much as a course with 18 regulation holes, not the same 9 twice! Forget that, next time we'll book a real golf course
