Lots of Buts Here in 22

Early in the season, the course is already showing signs of wear without clear signs of repair. With the amount of rain, we've had, the course should be lush. I love this course, needless to say Im concerned how the course will be in July.

Rates are a bit higher from 21. Happy to pay more when the course is being improved. Not clear whether there will be improvements or not this season.

Challenging Course, Great Layout, Improving, But Needs More

Quite possibly one of the most challenging courses in the area (from the tips). It measures nearly 7200 yards, that's pretty rare in SJ.

Tee boxes throughout the course are in good or great condition. A few fairways require repair (patches of crab grass or weeds, rocky bunkers with weeds and burnout surrounding, patches of waterlogged death, and poorly repaired divots ((ie the fault of golfers)) but it appears the course is trending towards the completion of these repairs. Granted at this time in the season, it may be questionable that the repairs will come in time for the heart of the season.

A few of the greens are clearly being worked, as of 4/30/21. This is promising. However, aside from rolling and aeration, at least 2 other greens have significant repair requirements, specifically 16. 17 is currently being worked on, while 18 shows signs of previous work.

There appears to be promise here, but I am concerned (as a club shopping golfer) that the repairs will not come in time for this 2021 season.

This course has mountains of potential. I would join in a heartbeat if these issues are resolved or plans for resolution are apparent for this season. All withstanding, if the members rates accommodated members for these reasons, I would quickly join (the course is that good). In the current condition, I would hope for a bit more or at least very clear plans for improvement.

Lots of ups and downs

Its a rather tight course with a few challenging doglegs, including tricky pin placement. Some of the most unique greens I have seen. One specifically has a large roll in the middle separating the green in half vertically. Interesting layout. Fairways were is decent shape. Unfortunately, many people do not replace divots, so it can be a bit choppy. Greens, aside from the challenges mentioned, are the holding their own. It appears the ground crew keeps up with them as best possible. However, people do not repair ball marks and spike tears, so you'll encounter greens that could use some TLC. A little golf etiquette goes a long way. The rangers could definitely be more aggressive with enforcing this. I would certainly play again for the interesting layout. Though, I think the hot deals could provide better bang for their buck, considering the likes of Ramblewood and The Links are going to less frequently.

Avoid the weekends to avoid the wild ball flight with little to no "fours". Its a jungle out there! I'm sure this course is great during the week!

The Land of Rolling Hills

Quite a lot of up and downs here, tilted fairway, challenging greens, strategic bunkers and water. Although, its wide open. The beauty is there are two course to choose from. I played the east, but wish I had played the west as I've heard it is even better in terms of condition and challenge. Greens were in great shape. Fairways were clean and well manicured. Stay out of the rough, they are tricky with thick fescue. If it weren't for the drive, I would frequent here often.

Great Course, Amenities Work in Progress

The course is in great condition. Several divots from plentiful play, but course management does a good job with repair work. If you seek amenities, you may want to look elsewhere, as they are under full renovation and currently using contractor trailers for in-house amenities. They've done a good job of making it work. However, most play for the course, not the amenities. That's just a bonus.

Overall the course is TIGHT. Fairways are well manicured. Greens are fast and smooth (mostly). Tee boxes could use the most work, as this is where golfers tend to not replace divots. Some enforcement here would be helpful. Plenty of doglegs, left and right, sand and water features. This is a challenging course regardless of the tee of choice. Recommended for the A striker, or those seeking a challenge. Regardless, a very playable, enjoyable course!

Needs Some Work

Yes, it had just rained the night previous, but the bunkers were filled with water (nearly all of them). Most golfers do not replace divots in the fairway, nor repair ball damage on the green. Several burned and bumpy greens. Everyone is experiencing the heatwave, but it appears white oaks has a little catching up to do on course management.

Great course, amenities, but clubhouse staff...

Unless this is a policy that I am unaware of, when purchasing a round through golfnow as a solo the order should be honored. I purchased a solo, cart for 18. Clubhouse staff, talker guys with a shave head had rather poor customer service. Per my order a cart is included. He refused to provide me with a cart key. He stated that I must ride with another individual. Is this your policy? Is this a policy that golfnow enforces? If so I’m clearly unaware. The issue is not necessarily the cart, moreso the treatment that I received from this individual. I play here frequently, replace divot and complete my duties as a golfer partaking on the course to maintain the course. I expect respect as given. This person needs a brush up on customer service and dress appropriately for god sakes, you are at a country club! Everyone from the rangers to grounds staff are fantastic.

The course is wonderfully kept and consistent. Certainly worth a play. Do not overlook! And certainly don’t let certain staff dissuade you from playing here!
