I went back and played Foothills -the last time was in the early 80’s at a time when the course was highly acclaimed for its layout and conditions. There were very few houses developed at that time.
I think this course still has a fun and challenging layout and about the only negative comment I can make is about what management there already is aware of I’m sure.
The greens are suffering and probably need a complete overhaul.
But this won’t keep me from going back soon and hopefully green issues will be addressed soon.

I have played this course several times. In my view it is a terrific, nuanced golf course. It was built in the '70's I believe and you can see these architectural nuances all over the place - From the small greens to the location of the bunkering and the positioning of the water hazards. The fair ways are generous and greens are a bit slow but very fair and readable.
I would recommend this course highly and it is in a great location in central Scottsdale. I have taken a few of my friends there - we are all snowbirds from Canada - and everyone has enjoyed their golf experience there and will all come back again.
