There was a time when this course was in excellent condition and fun to play. I hope you have memories of those days because you will never see them again. This course is so far gone you would need to start over to make it better. Crabgrass has taken over 90% of the course including tee boxes, fairways and around the greens. This is no longer a real golf course.

Play somewhere, anywhere else because they obviously don't care about golf at Laurel Island any longer.

I've always enjoyed this course and looked forward to the drive from Jacksonville. What a change a few months make. Fairways COVERED with crabgrass, bare edges around the greens and the greens look worse than I've ever seen them. It's unfortunate but it appears that the better days for Amelia River DO NOT lie ahead.

This course is interested in ringing the cash register and that's about it. Customer service is non-existent. Our t-time was double booked so they just crammed us in. When asked how this could happen we were told if we didn't want to play we didn't have to.
DO NOT play here if you are looking for a complete and enjoyable round. It's good when you want to get in 12 cheap holes and don't care about your game.

The practice chipping green for the stadium course was terrific, the greens on the valley course were an embarassment. I've played $35 courses with greens as good or better. The staff was arrogant and unhelpful as always. I could play two more times for free and not get my moneys worth.
