Redtail Golf Club
Played On 05/26/2023So very SLOW
Nice course, in good enough condition, great price on Golf Now, but no,one enjoys a round that took r hours and 15 minutes to complete. Where was the Marshall? Such slow play pretty much ruins a round of golf.
Crane Creek Golf Club
Played On 07/15/2015Cart paths need repairs!
A great course, great challenge, with many elevation changes. Hit 'em long and hit 'em straight! Two small complaints: please add more distance markers, and please add some water stations or occasionally run a cart around selling drinks. Currently, due to all the rain, the carts paths are in real need of repairs all over the course. Many have huge, gaping holes and areas that are almost completely washed out. When the rains stop (eventually?) we hope these repairs will be a high priority for this otherwise excellent course.
Tuscany Falls at PebbleCreek - East Course
Played On 02/02/2015very nice round of golf
Very nice course with friendly people. Greens and fairways in good shape. Only complaint is the group in front of us was SO SLOW there was an entire empty hole ahead of them. Wish there was a ranger out on the course to speed things up a little.
Sun City South Golf Course
Played On 12/18/2014A nice round
Maybe a little slower than usual since it had rained early, which stacked things up a little. But overall, a good value for the money.
Tres Rios Golf Course at Estrella Mountain Park
Played On 12/10/2014Good value, but soooooo slow
This is a good course and in much better shape than the last time we played it. But they really need a ranger on the course to move things along. First, a foursome and a twosome of friends joined together so they were playing as a SIXsome for about five holes until someone called the pro shop and said what the heck? A fellow rode out on a cart and split them up, but pace of play had pretty much ground to a halt already. Then another foursome slowed things down again so badly that there were two full open holes ahead of them. Yes, people can play poorly, but please play poorly FAST so the rest of us do not have to wait on every. single. shot. It did not help that the rules for the day were no carts in the fairway.
Falcon Golf Club
Played On 11/26/2014Good course for the price
Greens and fairways were in nice shape, and the course was enjoyable. The Staff needs a little training! The fellow on the cash register seemed confused that we prepaid for our tee times online, but he did eventually figure it out. We went out to warm up and he said they would call us to the first tee, but no one ever did. So we just went over there and hung out with three other foursomes waiting to tee off. We all sorted it out by ourselves. Play was veeeeery slow - waited on every hole, and by #14, we were waiting on every shot. Group behind us bailed at #10 and just replayed the front nine instead. Course might benefit from a Starter and a Ranger to keep an eye on time management.
Southern Ridge Golf Club
Played On 11/10/2014A hidden gem - try it!
A nice course and a bargain with an online tee time. Plus we were able to play quickly - less than 3 1/2 hours. Wow! The rough is a little scruffy (a few areas with branches down need to be cleaned up) but the fairways and greens were in great shape. The course is fair and challenging for men and women, and the staff members are super friendly. I really recommend this course and will definitely play it again soon.
Great Eagle Golf Club
Played On 10/30/2013Good course for the price
Although a couple of greens were still in rough shape from over-seeding, overall Great Eagle is a decent course.
Deer Valley Golf Course at Sun City West
Played On 10/27/2013Incredibly RUDE staff on a very nice course - beware GolfNow users
I bought the tee time for my husband, a good golfer. The course was nice, as were his playing partners. But when they arrived for the 1:37 tee time, there were no carts. The two staff members in charge were horrible - said "too bad, you shouldn't be playing here anyway". They were mad that all 4 guys were playing at a discount from GolfNow and one staffer actually said, "I OWN this course. I don't like GolfNow and you shouldn't use it." When asked what they would do about the carts, the same guy snarled, "I don't know and I don't care." My husband and one player decided to walk with pull carts; a staffer finally brought them a cart on the 5th hole. The two other golfers waited 45 minutes for cart. You know, anyone can be having a bad day, but don't take it out on the customers. AND IF YOU DON'T LIKE GOLFNOW THEN MAYBE YOUR COURSE SHOULDN'T USE IT. Almost ruined an otherwise nice day.
Arizona Traditions Golf Club
Played On 10/30/2012A good time on a good course
Although not the longest or toughest course in the Valley, it is a good test for hitting your ball straight and being accurate into the smallish greens. Staff is friendly, course is in good shape and we finished the round in under 3 1/2 hours!
Riverview Golf Course
Played On 10/29/2012Pretty wide open off the tee and gigantic greens
Nice, straight-forward course. Not the most scenic, but not all tricked out, either. Kind of an older style, more "traditional" course, but tough to beat it for $12! Very walkable course, but the pro shop should NOT allow fivesomes.
Cimarron Golf Club
Played On 10/28/2012Target golf
A little "tricked up" and not very forgiving, with placement of rocks and water, but a very attractive course. Be sure to Play It Forward and play the correct tees for your handicap in order to have an enjoyable time. Was still cart path only due to recent over seeding, so it was slow going at times.
Verrado Golf Club - Founders Course
Played On 10/11/2012Beautiful course, but not at all walkable
Classic desert foothills course with several elevation changes and even a view of downtown Phoenix in the far distance on a clear day. Bring a good long game since most holes have lengthy carries off the tee, and bring a good short game since greens are huge and well-bunkered. Very friendly staff and a nice beverage cart traveling the course. Free range balls included. Clubhouse is gorgeous. Pace of play was a little slow and distance between holes can be lengthy, so it is not really walkable, but this was a great place to play.
Villa de Paz Golf Course
Played On 10/8/2012Terrible shape - cannot recommend
The course was in TERRIBLE shape - overgrown, very shaggy, greens with bald spots, bunkers all ragged, old carts, etc. Yes, it had recently reopened after over seeding, but this looked like years of neglect. To make it worse, many of the houses surrounding the course were in disrepair, some even boarded up, and some huge, angry, howling dogs charged at us behind some very shaky-looking chain link fence. With all the great options for golf in the valley, why would anyone choose this place?
Copper Canyon Golf Club - Vista/Lake Course
Played On 10/4/2012Great course, great fun
One of our favorite courses in the west Valley. Beautiful setting, in great condition, not crowded and super people. Even better to book it at a discount on Golf Now!
