Leopard's Chase Golf Links at Ocean Ridge Plantation
Played On 09/10/2018Poor Greens
Condition of greens was poor, several bare spots and bumpy. Course hazards can make this a very challenging course, especially if you are unfamiliar with the placement of the hazards. Tee boxes and fairways in good condition.
Bay Pointe Country Club

Tee boxes in poor condition - basically beat up. Fairways were very firm with numerous bare spots.
Ewa Beach Golf Club
Played On 02/16/2017Flat and Open Course, but Interesting
Generally straight fairways with well positioned trees and bunkers to challenge your selection of shots. Fairways were in very good condition. Greens rolled true. Sand in bunkers was hard packed. Open course makes it very hot when the sun is out. Cooler with ice and a face towel are provided. There are cold towels available at the cart return to cool off - a nice touch.
Beware that there is no driving range - only putting and chipping area.
Makani Golf Club
Played On 02/14/2017Diverse course layout with beautiful scenery
Course was in excellent condition except for a few tee boxes that had lots of divots. Nice mixture of straight fairways, doglegs and elevated greens. Lots of turkeys and goats on the course, but not a problem. Only issue I had with this course is that the last two holes (the 17th island green and 18th with significant water hazard) come too late in the round. These are great challenging holes, and you have to be at your best to play them. So if you are tired, be ready to lose a bunch of balls. But this course is a must play.
Volcano Golf & Country Club
Played On 02/13/2017Needs Work
Tee boxes had lots of divots. Fairways had wet areas. Greens were in poor condition. Nice area surrounded by the volcanoes, but hard to enjoy the round with so many course maintenance issues. Also if you have never played this course, there is a lack of signs telling you where the next hole is, so easy to get off track.
Turtle Bay Resort - Arnold Palmer Course
Played On 02/08/2017Beautiful Setting and Intereting Layout
Fairways were in great condition. A few tee boxes were not in the best of condition as were several greens mostly on the back nine which had mold rot. However, the greens rolled true. Be sure to bring a GPS as distance control is critical to avoid the strategically placed bunkers and water hazard. Played the Palmer course where only the 17th hole comes near the water. Because the Palmer driver range is only open on weekends, had to use the driving range at the Fazio course which is an absolute disaster. Hitting area was almost all dirt and was only allowed to use irons, although students with instructors right next to you were hitting drivers. Felt this was unfair especially with the green fee of $120 for twilight play. Twosome in front of me were playing multiple balls, but no marshal to control this unacceptable behavior.
We certainly apologize that the greens were not in better condition when you last played Leopard's Chase. The end of a brutally hot summer like we had last year will definitely take a toll on heat sensitive bentgrass greens, but they have bounced back wonderfully and are now in very good condition. In fact, they look pretty awesome right now! We hope you will get a chance to come again sometime and see for yourself. We cannot promise these or any bentgrass greens in our region will be in their best condition if you come in late summer, but in the cooler weather months and all through spring and early summer, they will be spectacular. We hope to see you soon.
