Dunston Hall
Played On 04/04/2017Decent course
Challenging course with some beautiful features. Was empty mid week. It was my first time playing this course and won't be the last. A few problems though; the staff weren't very friendly. There was also no mention of temporary greens and people were aloud to play in tracksuit bottoms and tshirt. For such a lovely course I feel it is selling itself short with these small things.
Sunbury Golf Centre - 18-hole Course
Played On 02/16/2017Good layout
Fun course with some interesting par 3s. Staff very friendly. Play can sometimes be slow with a lot of older stubborn members but the course is well maintained and some challenging holes.
Thames Ditton & Esher Golf Club
Played On 02/05/2017The course is very cheap
The course was cheap but the greens and fairways were shocking. There was a very dangerous shared fairway. Many people walking dogs who would walk right up the middle of the fairway. But again was so so cheap 7 pound for 9 holes. You can't really have to many issues with that.

This is a friendly welcoming club. The course had brilliant features. It is well maintained with many tricky holes with lots of water hazards. The pace of play was good even with a 4 ball in front.

This is the worst course I have ever played at. The play was slow and staff didn't seem to care. We turned up and had to wait 20 minutes to tee off even though we had booked a tee time. Behind us were a dad and two children. They were wearing jeans and trainers but were told that was OK by staff. They had rented clubs and obviously had never played golf before. After almost being hit twice by them and having a word eventually my friend was hit on the leg. At this point we decided it wasn't worth carrying on as it was to dangerous. When going back to the club house and explaining the person working said the course is understaffed. We asked for our money back but he could only give us another round of golf. This is useless as I won't be playing there again if only for safety reasons.
Thanks for the feedback. I’d like to respond to them. The Club lease both the clubhouse and course based at the common. All common users including the GC golf members have right of way using the common. We generally have a good relationship with dog walkers etc. There is a shared fairway for 2 holes, and yes you do have to be careful and give right of way to other golfers on occasion. We are totally reliant on the weather as there is no installed automatic watering system. The recent weather is great but affects the greens and fairways directly. I’m sorry you didn’t enjoy your experience but please give us another try when the Virus has passed. Jeff Hammond COO.
Please come and try the course in 2020. A lot of work has been done to improve the greens and Tee boxes. The fairways are slowly recovering. We lease and share the Common to use as a Golf Course. Our other fellow Common users have right if way when walking their dogs. Look forward to seeing any visitors. Jeff. Club Secretary.
Come and give the course another try! its common ground so there is nothing to stop other users on the common including dog walkers. Just like Wimbledon Common. There are shared fairways which you get very used quite quickly. We are working on the greens and fairways as usual this Month. After the hot Summer last year there is work to do. Thanks.
