Played this course last year and everything was good. Played it today (and again tomorrow) and all I can say is WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT. The course arranged transfer from our hotel was 35 minutes late. No phone call or apology. When we arrived the staff greeting was indifferent to flat out rude. They’re charging $500+ US and it’s a embarrassment. They rushed us to the tee after hitting 3 range balls. Pace of play was 5.5 hours. Never saw anyone out there trying to manage the pace of play.

Greens are nice but lots of burnout likely from sea water sprqy. You could see some half hearted attempts to repair the areas but really poorly done. Green side bunkers are extremely inconsistent. Too much sand in some and almost no sand in others.

Lots of rocks in bunkers, not just the waste bunker areas. Waste bunkers are best described as gravel roads.

After our round I talked to the pro shop staff and they really didn’t give a hoot. We have your money so we don’t care seemed to be the approach.

The course arranged transportation tried to charge us a second time for the return trip (we paid for both ways up front because that’s what they told us to do).

They call themselves the “Pebble Beach” of the Caribbean. Sorry I’ve played Pebble Beach and Punta Espada is not even close on any measurable basis. Yes they charge Pebble Breach prices but you are not getting the Pebble Beach experience.

I really can’t believe this a Nicklaus Signature course. It just doesn’t measure up.

A great experience from the moment you arrive at the bag drop until you leave. Reception at bag drop is efficient and friendly. Pro shop staff greet you with genuine professional style. The practice area is top notch and every starter I’ve met have been engaging and accommodating. I’ve played here for seven years and can honestly say the experience is better then what I see at my club back home. The conditions a are second to none. The course layout and condition will give you all the test you’ll need. It tests every aspect of your game and will expose any weakness. Do everyone a favor and play the tees appropriate to your skill. Be prepared to be humbled!!

I’ve been coming here for 6 years and everything is always on point. Bag drop staff are friendly and efficient. Pro shop professionals are just that, professional and welcoming. In particular Lucas. He’s engaging and is a great example of what at a Club Pro should be. The starters are friendly and work hard to organize the first tee in a professional and friendly manner.

Now the course. This course is difficult, don’t be afraid to play from a tee deck shorter then you may normally play. It will be a challenge and you may just enjoy the experience more.

The course conditions are typically outstanding. Greens are fast and roll very true. Being below the hole is a must.

Pace of play is spot on. On course service is great. Club house F+B staff are friendly and attentive.

Bottom line, it’s excellent from start to finish.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. This course is extremely demanding. It’s always in great shape. The reception at the bag drop, pro shop and restaurant are top shelf. They make you feel welcome and happy you’ve come to play their course. They show lots of pride and take great care if you while you’re there.

Go play it, you won’t be disappointed.

It’s a shot making course. Always in good condition. Greens are not “fast” but they roll true and are fair. The employees seem to be all retirees and in desperate need of customer service training. You get the feeling they would rather you weren’t there. A shame really because it is a nice little track.

If you hate fast greens, lots of water, sand and great staff ... don't play here. Old corkscrew presents all the challenges you could want. This is a very challenging design. It offers target golf, some wide let it rip golf. The greens are outstanding - fast and tricky. Practice facility has everything you need to work in your game.

The team that take care of you while you're there are fantastic. Friendly, engaging and professional.

This is a nice course to play. Has good mix of challenging holes. Greens had good speed. Fast but not crazy fast. Draw back would be playing through a subdivision. Lots of homes. Pro shop reception wasn't the best, could have been a bit more welcoming and engaged. It's a solid $70 course if you can play it for that price. At $100 it's a little weak on challeng and value.

The course is straight forward. Until you get to the greens. The greens are fast and lots of slops. You never want to be above the hole, period! Very enjoyable round. Pro shop staff and bag drop staff are great. Pace of play was excellent. 3 hours 50 minutes teeing off at 8am with a foursome. Lots of tee options make it playable for all levels.

Put the driver away and play for position. Greens roll true and can be quick down grain. Pay attention to the hole layout markers at the tee deck as some hazards are not obvious from just looking down fairway. They do a cross over in the morning so first nine will be quick but second nine can be slow.

Really fun quote to play.

Paid $80. Over priced. Layout is solid but greens were so slow it should have been embarrassing. They may have top dressed recently but they could of had the, faster then they did. Keep right on most hole to avoid water. Pace of play wasn't great. About 4 hours 10 minutes. If the greens are rolling a 10 plus it would be a very good test.
