Oak Golf Course at Wedgewood Golf Club

Always great getting out to Wedgewood! Rained a lot the night before but still played great. 3 - 9s, Maple, Pine and Oak. Some water in the bunkers but nothing that can be done, fun time!

A favorite course, but this going trend of pace of play and lack of course etiquette is getting annoying.
Course is nice, bunkers are crap - stones/gravel/sand mix.
5.5 hours for a round is unacceptable on any day of the week, no course ranger but there was a staffer in a cart constantly driving around with water and collecting trash; as well, a cart person with food and beverages so thumbs up there. Please, trade one or both for a ranger or two. On hole 3, blind shot, I took my cart and drove past the blind spot and the golfers were circling in their carts, looking for their golf balls and not ready for their shots, with a cleared green for about 2-3 minutes.
Also, had a 2-some behind us hit their tee shots into us 3 or 4 times (mainland does have blind shots - however, golfers should drive up to the blind spots to assure their shots are clear) and then the 2-some asked to play-through on hole 10, at the turn, with a 4-some in the fairway, a 4-some on the tee, and the 4-some I was a part of - getting food at the turn, behind all of these groups. This 2-some behind us also walked up to the tee box a few times - as we were waiting for the green to clear, on hole 4, par 3, assuming that we were standing there with an open green.
It was a beautiful day, yes, but not worth $65. Pace of play and course etiquette have deteriorated, and it appears mainland has no problem with that.

The course was okay, bunkers had tons of rocks in them, and some barely had sand in them. Greens were fast and fairways were good. Maple to Oak.
2 hour, 10 minutes, front-9 holes, not bad.
3.5 hour, back-9 holes. That’s Appalling…
There was, allegedly, a golf outing. All well and fine; however, the outing was not monitored whatsoever, to the point that the pace of play became atrocious.
Players were not ready when pulling up to the for shots, running back and forth with clubs, and one gentleman eyed up 1 putt for about 3 minutes, re-check his stance, move his coin, re-check his alignment, practice putt, engage for putt, then back off and do it all over again. Couldn’t help it, but the putt was about 5 feet, pretty pathetic to watch. All golf courses should have at least 1-2 Course Marshalls checking pace of play, doing the rounds, including this golf course.
This is the 2nd time, as of recent, which pace of play has deteriorated after 9 holes at this course. As well, a younger kid in the outing which was ahead of us - was not appropriately dressed to play golf, with a tee shirt, button-down, sneakers and tube socks, and what looked to be either basketball shorts or swimming trunks. There is an etiquette to golf, and attire is one of them. To top it off, one group in the outing was blaring music on the course.
**And to Wedgewood Golf Course: please do not charge consumers a “bag” fee. Yes, there is a bag fee. Each golfer must have their own bag, and if not, you must rent clubs, for a small fee.
For instance, I had one other person, who played in my group, and we rode in the same cart - but their clubs aren’t that great and preferred to use my clubs which are a little nicer, so we were going to play with the same set of clubs. The front desk lady was really nice and explained the policy; however, had explained to me that the “bag” fee/policy per golfer, is in place because of “pace of play”… so, we did get my friends clubs out of their car, and we had so much time on our hands - that the other person in my cart - PLAYED with my clubs anyway. We even had enough time in between to chip and putt after our holes were done. That’s how bad pace of play was.
So long story short, do not lecture individuals about “pace of play” or institute “bag” fee/policy to address “pace of play”, when clearly you’re not monitoring… “pace of play”. As well, and instead, maybe, just maybe….Wedgewood Golf Course should have an attire policy too. I have frequented Wedgewood as a favorite golf course of mine and the group I was with, but I would say to avoid this golf course at all costs, if this kind of business is going to continue. I have played at several local golf courses and this by far was the worst experience in a long time.
Oh, and for a minute, golfers in the outing, tried to cut in front of us, even though they were behind us, and there were 4 groups ahead of us on hole 10 - Oak - waiting…
The group - asked us, “you’re not going to let us play through?”
My response - “to what? The other 4 groups ahead of us”
Golf is a game of etiquette, and Wedgewood Golf Course - has lost it. Strongly recommend golfing somewhere else.

Great course, bang for buck. Pace of play could have been faster, regardless of Sunday/weekend golf. Course conditions were great, as they usually are. Definitely a favorite, great course layouts, always fun to play there
Thank you for your review, Mark9143839. We will pass along your positive experience to our team at Wedgewood. We look forward to seeing you again soon.

First time playing this course, it’s a-must if you’ve never played here. Bring extra golf balls. Pace of play was terrible - a little over 5 hours, but it happens, my only qualm. The fairways were burned in a lot of spots, which I thought was awesome - the ball ran out a lot more, making what was a difficult course, even more difficult, like links golf but the elevation changes were ridiculously challenging and cool. This place has scenic looks, and the layout is up, down, left, and right, all at the same time. Greens were aerated but still played fast. Cart person was always coming around which was great also. This course gave me grief and hope to see yas soon again!

Always a fun place to golf. Ambassador side. Greens were extremely fast, and hole 3/par 3 pin-position was fun and disastrous at the same time - A lot of tough pin positions, but good!
Wow! We are so happy you enjoyed your round! We look forward to seeing you again soon at Ambassador at Hickory Valley Golf Club.

Always nice to play at Berkleigh. A favorite,
Very good course for rate. Testy layout and unforgiving if out of position the slightest bit. Fairways and greens ran out alot and greens were fast. difficult course - was in nice shape. Pace of play was just under 4hrs which was nice also. Buddy had a hole-in-one on hole 6. So that made the experience even more enjoyable. A must play if you haven’t been to Berkleigh!

Pace of play should be stressed even at the community-golf level. It was cart-path only which is understandable, course very wet, not very good.
1st tee - was about 10/15 minutes behind. Asked to start on back 9 and was disallowed. When there is a full hole between groups, there’s an issue. When a threesome and a foursome is faster than a twosome, there’s a problem. Don’t just take peoples money and let them golf ignorantly, no excuses. It’s a beautiful week for golf, as people will be out golfing, however, there was no starter and no marshal. All tees were removed except one set, which were all forward. This will be my last time here and I would not recommend.

Brilliant Course. From tee to green. Wouldn’t recommend golfing before 730am, a ton of fog but not golf courses fault. Start time 6am, and took time for the fog to roll out. It’s left, right, up and down. Can’t miss fairways or greens, plenty of trees, water and bunkers surrounding. A new favorite.

Tough course, long, narrow, left, right, uphill, downhill, water, trees and sand. Great deal for $33, course is in fantastic shape especially for this time of year. Can’t imagine how great it’ll be in prime season. Greens were brutally fast so good luck!! haha! Love this course but need to bring you A-game and extra golf balls. A favorite!

Challenging golf course. Extremely fast greens. Island green is always a favorite, but got the best of me this time ha. Pace of play great, always hitting. The best maintained public course around unless someone can tell me different, get what you pay for - quality. I’d recommend carrying extra golf balls. A lot of fun!

Always a tough course. Course in good shape. Greens were firm and fast.
Course was packed and that’s fine except the group ahead did not know pace of place-etiquette and were looking for balls that were clearly out of bounds left and right and the green was clear multiple times. Waited constantly. The group behind us hit-into our group on the green. The course has blind spots however...do your diligence as a golfer. Maybe install a bell for blind shot-spots? NOT the course staffs fault. Get 2 Marshalls, one for the front 9 and one for the back 9. Ready golf...sick of 3 guys looking for 1 guys ball OB, when the other 3 guys are on the green or fringe.

2nd time playing this course, ever. Just as good as the last, and got to play the Oak side this time. It’s left, it’s right, it’s up and down. A top public course. Course was well kept, greens were receptive but especially-fast after 9. Whatever y’all are doing, keep doin!!
Wow - Thank you for the five star review! We are happy to have exceeded your expectations. We love hearing from you and are glad you had a great experience. We look forward to having you back again soon!

A personal favorite so, perhaps I’m biased. Course as always, in beautiful shape, ball ran in fairways and greens were firm and fast. They had a golf cart circling with snacks and beverages at all times. What more can you ask for on a hot Sunday?

Nice course and always a fun round. Water always in play or OB. Tight fairways and hilly greens which play slow. A good iron player is suited best. Staff was great and accommodated as my playing partner showed up 30 mins late and threw us in right away, thanks guys!

Good, challenging course. Hills up and down, turns left and right. Tight/open fairways and greens. Have to know where to put the ball, or you’re in trouble. Slippery putts.

First time golfing. Challenging course. Staff on top of everything, course was in awesome condition. Starter wanted everyone at tee 10 minutes in advance-roll call-like was awesome. Aerated greens yes but they notified via Golfnow. 35 bucks, and this is a place I’ll be revisiting often. Had rain the night before and could still hit any shot, walk without sogginess. Keep doing what you’re doing. Skippack GC is a new favorite. Other local courses can’t measure up
