We had a 2:15 tee time, which should have allowed plenty of time before sunset to finish the round. The course does not have marshals, which adds to the slow pace of play.
Yesterday as we were about to tee off on the back nine the cart manager informed us that all carts were to be returned by 6:30, about 30 minutes before sunset!
No one, from the pro shop, starter or even Golf Now, alerted us to this requirement!
When you pay to play 18 holes, you expect to to be able to finish the round.

Shadow Mountain is very much a course in transition, with new ownership.

While traps have new sand, it needs to have new rakes that allow you to rake sand properly. In most cases the sand wasn’t raked at all.

Greens needs some work as well, very bumpy and quite firm( won’t hold even a well struck short iron.

It is obvious that the course is finally getting the TLC is deserves!

With the exception of the starter, staff was not very cordial or interested in assisting players. Due to construction you have to meander through the parking lot and rides to get from the 9th to the 10th hole, unfortunately there are no signs directing you.
We had a 1 pm tee time , at 4:45 we had 3 holes to play, when the cart’s GPS instructed us that carts were to be returned by 5PM. Sunset was 5:30, not sure why carts needed to be returned so early?. With no before hand notice that this was a requirement.
The course was in great condition and overall very challenging.

Course states that no outside drinks or food are to be brought onto the property. Yet we never found any drinking water available on the course ( no beverage cart), cafe at9 was closed. No water in pro shop.
On a day when the temperature pushed 90, not a healthy situation.
Everything else at the course was very good.
Would have rated 5 stars.

Course is in good condition, though greens are slow. Wide open holes, though most are similar, so gets a bit boring.
Staff is fine, though could be a bit more helpful in finding things that are not well marked. Pace was good on front nine, then everything came to a screeching halt on the back, no marshal to move things along.

Traps need a lot of work. Otherwise course is in good condition.

Course is enjoyable to play. Had frost delay so tee times backed which slowed play.

Course was in reasonably good condition after heavy rain the day before. Layout is very good. Unfortunately, the traps are terrible, very little sand, hard packed dirt and rocks. Driving range has no grass. Amenities very limited, no drink cart, limited menu in grill, limited stock in pro shop. Needs work to be worth cost.

Course was in best shape of any courses we have played to date. Layout very fair. Busy course, but no long delays, played round in just over 4 hrs.
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Will return.

Course needs some TLC. Many bare spots both on fairways and greens. Layout is great.

The course was quite good, though beware that the greens are rock hard and don't hold as you would expect. Practice facilities are good. Staff was very good.
We played 3 groups behind a small scramble tournament, waited every shot and finished 18 after sundown. Ranger needs to help move slow groups along. Second problem was lack of drinking water, didn't see beverage cart until 12th hole, kiosk at 9 was closed when we made turn, only drinking fountain we found was on 12 th tee.

Played course week after LPGA tournament, it was in excellent condition considering the play from the event. Will be back.
Staff was first rate!
