Looking Good

I’ve played this course several times over the years. It has never bee in better condition. The greens are immaculate. They are very fast. The fairways are in good condition. The sand traps are ok. The facility has a nice restaurant or you can grab a bite at the snack shack. I plan to play there more frequently. It is a good value

A course on life support

I have played Castle Creek many times in the past 8 years and never has it looked so forlorn. Fairways and tee boxes are brown. The greens suffer from some sort of fungal blight. There are dead trees on almost every hole. It is a sad situation in deed.
The course layout is fair and challenging for me, in intermediate player, 16 handicap. Even the restaurant/bar was closed. I hope help is on the way or we will lose yet another golf course in San Diego.

Hidden Fee

The oaks is a very small par three with no hole longer than 127 yards. Beautifully maintained under many oaks and sycamores. It was perfect for my elderly mom or for beginners. Unfortunately, I was taken aback when charged $16.50 for t cart. If I had elected to ride along it would have cost $35.00. OUCH!

Great value

Well maintained. Greens were in great condition. Club house is old and out-of-date. For less than $30.00 it is a great deal.

Ever play golf in a cow pasture?

City Center at Goat's Hill is a unique golfing experience. The fareways are rough, often void of grass. The course is very hilly requiring many blind shots. The greens are in good condition. You will experience many gofers and squirrels and contend with their burrows and mounds during the day. The price is great and the staff is friendly. The breezes off the Pacific provide a welcome relief on hot summer days. The course is poorly marked...I was lost twice. You will share the course with frisbee golfers. Clubhouse ammenities are minimal. With all the shortcomings, we had a a fun time and laughed a lot.
