PGA WEST Pete Dye Mountain Course
Played On 06/11/2021Back 9 is incredible
The Mountain course is the best of the PGA West courses. Front 9 is somewhat pedestrian but the back side is truly incredible. Amazing placement of holes up in steep sided mountainous rocky canyons with superb views. Can’t recommend it enough. It was hard but fair and a lot of fun.
Arizona Grand Resort

Resort course at Arizona Grand Resort is convenient if your are staying on property but I would probably choose to play elsewhere if you have the time/budget with so many great courses in the Phoenix area.
It's fine but definitely not spectacular. Layout is little bit quirky -- i.e. some oddly constructed holes, semi awkward in places, tee shot on #1 is blind uphill. Feels sort of squeezed in to the confines of the resort property. Be prepared for long drives in the cart between green and next tee -- particularly after finishing #18. Would suck to walk it. But overall it was fun, lots of variety, and overall condition of the course was excellent. Most holes are lined with condos but there is a small 3-4 hole break on backside where you plunge out into the desert and it's beautiful.
