Winding Creek Golf Club
Played On 12/17/2021Blind shots abound
Almost every hole, even a par-3, is a blind shot. That is, there are hills between tee and landing site, so you can't see if players have cleared out, nor see where you land the ball. I don't mind a few of those, but almost every hole?? Greens were decent. Course was wet from a recent rain.
Siler City Country Club
Played On 10/12/2021Enjoyable layout
For the price, one of the best courses in the area: fairly wide fairways, but strategic hazards; greens were great but a bit slow early in the day. Fairways are decent…even if not your typical CC caliber. Overall very enjoyable round!!

Fun shot makers course. Average condition, but dont expect CC grade fairways. Good greens and Tee boxes.

Played On 04/27/2019Nice Courae
First ones off at 7:15. Some challenging pin positions. Over all course was in good shape; a couple of greens had some bare spots. Cart paths in rough shape. But tee to green is great shape. Bunkers good too... a least the 2 i hit into. Good 5 tee options.
Lake at Carolina Trace Country Club
Played On 05/11/2018Nice layout, but not $100 conditions this time around
Beautiful layout, and fun holes for right hander. About 4 downhill, right dog legs with wide fairways. Some other fairways were much tighter. Most greens are on the smaller size.
But the conditions were disappointing: perimeters of the greens were patchy, the bunkers were hard packed (just had heavy rains), fairways were not smooth and lush, as expected for a $100 fee course.
Really nice layout, good club house; fair prices for a club house (eg $3 lemonades).
Tot Hill Farm Golf Club
Played On 03/04/2017a playable,obstacle course
Considering it's still dormant, the fairways played well. Greens were fast. For those not familiar, there are no plain, straight holes: Always shooting over or around something. So be confident about your yardages and ball flight. Very enjoyable. But take water and snacks, cause there ain't nothing on the course but golf. Later in the year, I would rate the course higher.
Little River Golf & Resort
Played On 08/20/2016Fun layout! Good condition.
Smart move to switch the start to the back. The front is more challenging, and warming up on the back is a wise decision. A fun layout! Fairways have good landing areas; but from the tips, some tees are back in a shoot. So hit 'em straight. Greens are good....starting to develop some burned spots, but still rolling good, albeit a bit slow. Really good conditions overall. It's a shame the ownership is struggling to keep investment up. Hazard markers non existent, and bunkers were in rough shape. Restaurant closed, no bar or snack bar to speak of. Lots of potential. On-course restrooms and watering holes are sparse and rough. Could be so much better! But good value anyways.
