Great Location

Stepping up to the 1st tee at freedom golf course makes you feel free! The course is in such a great location with beautiful trees that take you up and down its short par 3s and sloppy fairways that are shared for disc golf and foot golf. The greens are not in good shape and there is mud everywhere, but if you shank the ball then who cares? Great course for first timers and beginners!

Short and fairly easy

Mission Royale is a shorter 18 hole course, but has a nice structured layout. If you don't hit the ball far or if you are in the area and just want a basic course to play a practice round, then this spot is for you. Course was busy, but the pace of play was good!

Amazing View of Mountains

Verde River has amazing views of the mountains and a very solid layout. When I played about 5 holes were under construction, so I did not get the full experience. Greens and bunkers were what you would expect from a nice course. Worth the drive.

Fantastically Forgiving!

Apache Creek is wide open and a very easy course to score on, however it has a championship course feel to it. The course is in great condition and plays long with well placed bunkers. There are a few water holes too. An all around great course to build confidence in your game and get a fast paced round in for a great price!

Nice Layout

Longbow is a great course with a wonderful layout. When I played, the greens were rolling very fast, but were hard and not receptive. Also, hole #10 fairway was under repair since an airplane crashed into it, but it just made the hole a little more difficult. They don't seem to lower their prices as much as similar quality courses do in the summer or else I would play here more. If the greens were more receptive there would be a lot of scoring opportunities.

Nice shorter course

Starfire is a lovely little course with narrow fairways and some challenging holes. The main issue here is the pace of play is always very slow. They don't have a normal driving range and their putting and chipping green can get very crowded. If you are not in a hurry and just looking to sharpen up the game, Starfire is for you!

Solid Track

Verrado (founder's course) is a great track with lovely views of the White Tanks and Central Phoenix. The time I played the course was undergoing slight maintenance, but still pretty nice course conditions for this time of year. Some of the greens are very challenging with false fronts and severe slopes. The natural hole layout flows wonderfully from Par 4s to 5s to 3s and mix of doglegs. The pace of play was great too!

Challenging Course

Quintero is a great course with great greens and tight fairways. If you don't hit it close to the center of the fairway, you will most likely end up losing many balls in the desert as you cannot walk into certain areas to look for them since they are severely sloped washes with bushes everywhere. I would definitely play here again if it was a good deal. Very scenic and nice practice facility. Only slight negatives are the club house is very far away from the driving range and first tee and the pace of play is somewhat slow due to everyone looking for their tee shots in the desert.

The Holy Grail

This course is only for the best of the best. If you are not a single digit handicap, don't bother playing from the tips. If you are a weekend golfer who likes to play resort courses and take mulligans every other hole, this course is not for you, leave this course for the big boys and the purists.

Pja14,

We appreciate you taking the time to give us your feedback. I'm not sure when you played but we hope you enjoyed your time at TPC Scottsdale. We have two great golf courses and each has its risk/reward shots and challenging holes. Of course, the Stadium is most recognized and considered the "bucket list" course with some exceptional finishing holes 15-18. We do recommend golfers play the tee box appropriate for their handicap; and one probably shouldn't be playing from the tips without a single digit handicap. We hope to see you again soon.

Best Regards,
TPC Scottsdale Management Team

Lame Course

There is really nothing wrong with it, good condition, fair price, but I was expecting to be impressed and I was definitely disappointed. It could have been my fault for having such high expectations after reading the other reviews and it was a far drive for me, not worth the drive. The property this course is on has a lot of potential, but the way the course layout is setup does not take optimal advantage of the land and instead of having jaw-dropping views or aesthetically pleasing tee shots, this course settles for being just kind of lame.

We appreciate your feedback. We are glad you found the course in good condition and that you found value in the course. Wickenburg may be a farther drive out of Phoenix, but you might find being a little up north makes it a bit more pleasing in the Summer months! We are sorry to learn you did not have as great of an experience as expected, but we hope you give us another shot.

Social Course

Silverado is a great course if you want to hang out in the cart, drink some beers and play Army golf. When I played the course it was in poor condition with bumpy greens. I could see how this course attracts beginner golfers or people who want to socialize rather than seriously play the game as it has a fun and easy layout that runs right along Hayden Road. Silverado's finishing hole is a 150 yard par 3, they do not have a driving range, and the pace of play is one of the slowest in Scottsdale.

Overpriced and Overrated

Troon North is a nice golf course, however there are better courses out there, especially when considering price and pace of play, which are 2 important factors for me. I played the Pinnacle course, which has very lovely views of Scottsdale, North Phoenix, Carefree, and Cave Creek. The mountains look gorgeous especially from the tee box on hole #3. The fairways are narrow and surrounded by desert making challenging tee shots. The main issue with the greens is they currently have 2 different kinds of grass growing on them and are spotty. Although they are soft and receptive, the ball does not roll true to line and the grain simply takes over the ball since the grass grows in different heights throughout the day. Pace of play was super slow as well.

Easy Course

Las Colinas is a great course for a beginner or if you want to boost your confidence and go low. The fairways are wide open, however some of the sloped greens can add difficulty in accessing the pins. One of the better courses in the Queen Creek area as long as you get a tee time where the course is not crowded because I can definitely see pace of play being an issue here.

Nice Layout - Poor Conditions

Stonecreek has a great layout and nice mix of doglegs. Holes 10 and 17 share a green and if it's your first time playing here you could get confused as to which pin to aim for. It is a fairly open course and only challenging due to the below average conditions. Reminds me of all the other Arcis properties, which all have great layouts, but aren't taken care of enough to be in good shape. If you can get a good deal on a tee time here and are a double digit handicap, then play it all day, but if you are a single digit looking for tournament practice you will need to go somewhere that is a step above.

Typical Mountain Layout

This course has the typical Arizona mountain layout - elevated tee boxes, sloped fairways and greens. I played when the greens were aerated and the fairways were slightly muddy in some areas. It has 2 severely downhill par 3s and a short par 4 with a severely uphill green. If you are looking for a short course with lots of elevation change, then this is for you, however I will not be going back anytime due to the price and conditions.
