Good course to practice your irons

This is a short and flat 9-hole course. It has 2 par-4 holes with about 270 yards each. The remaining 7 holes are all par-3. The fairways are in good condition. The greens are slow, but in excellent shape. While the course's view is not beautiful, but there are enough green trees and fairways to make it pleasant. The course is easily walkable. This course offers pleasant view, decent fairways, excellent green, easy walk, and chances to practice your irons and putters at a very affordable price. Highly recommended .

Bing Maloney - A nice golf course in the cernter of Sacramento

Bing Maloney has 2 courses, a short 9-hole, and a regular 18-hole one.
The short course is perfect for fine tuning your irons and putting. It is about 1,400 yards with 2 par 4 holes at about 270 yards, and 7 par-3 holes. The greens are among the best in Sacramento. They are well kept and true. The price is hard to beat. You can get golfnow.com price for as low as $8.50.
The long course is much longer, around 6,570 yards. Except for about 5 holes, most fairways are fairly wide and open, perfect for grip-and-rip golfers. The back nine is more challenging than the front nine, especially holes 10 and 11. Fairways and greens are fairly well-kept.
Bing offers good practice facilities. Beside two big putting/chipping greens, Bing has a a decent restaurant, and a nice lighted and shaded driving range. The range balls were in top condition the last few times I hit balls.
I have been playing both courses for the last 20 years, and I truly enjoyed playing at Bing.

Bing Maloney - A good-value golf course in the cernter of Sacramento

I like the new dynamic online reservation system. I believe this system benefits both players and course managers.

Here are my impression from playing Bing Maloney on 8/9/16.

PROS:
Staff: courtrous and efficient
Fairway: very good condition. Fairways are generally green and well- maintained.
Roughs: grass is cut shorter than other courses so roughs are not too punishing.
Greens: generally in good condition and well- maintained. Greens are about right, not too fast and not too slow.
CONS:
There any too many gophers holes. These holes pose dangers to golfers, and can swallow golf balls.

A well-designed, well-kept, and fun course to play.

This course is only 9 miles from San Jose downtown. Traffic in the off-peak hours is very good. You should plan your tee time so that your driving does not hit peak traffic.

The course is moderate in length, about 6350 yards from blue tees. It offers many challenging sand bunkers along fairways and greens. A few of the bunkers needs more sand. About 5 holes have water hazards. The fairways are green, wide, and well-maintained. On most par 4 and par 5 holes you can take your driver and rip it to your heart content. The tee boxed are generally shaded and well-placed so that you do not have to walk far between holes. I played with a cart, but you can easily walk this course. What I like most about this course is its greens. They are smooth and true. There are no mountains or large bodies of water nearby to influence your putts.

Overall, this course is well-designed, well-kept, and fun to play.

A challenging, but fun link course.

I played this course on a cloudy and windy day with 25 mph wind. Strong wind and a difficult layout make it very challenging to play. Even so, I enjoyed the course. The fairways and green are well-kept. The course is long, hilly, and is not suitable for walking golfers. It offers fantastic view of wild flower and mountain scenery. You need to bring a lot of golf balls as many fairways are narrow, and the roughs are thick, especially if you are not used to link golf.

The fee may be a little high, but playing it is a worthwhile experience.

This course is great for senior golfers

The course condition is very good overall. Fairways and greens are in very good condition. The course may be a little short, only three par four, but it is good for practicing your short game, and is right for senior golfers. It's convenient location and good condition are also big appeal.
