Laurel Island Links
Played On 11/06/2019Wonderful Golf Outing at Bargain rates
Today’s (Nov. 6) visit to Laurel Island links was wonderful. The overcast skies & moderate breeze felt great. Staff was very welcoming & course was well maintained. Greens rolled smooth, true & moderately slow. Recent rain was absorbed & cart use was not restricted. Greens were firm despite recent rain. Club house facilities, pro shop & locker rooms, including their “19th hole” for refreshments were very nice. Our tee time was just past noon & pace of play was not impeded by anyone. Course coolers were filled with cold water on the course to stay hydrated. I’m very thankful course has chosen to participate with Golf Now for several daily tee times. Its a great incentive to play often. Location is very easy to get to from JAX area or SE Georgia - just 10 minutes east of I-95, in Kingsland.
Laurel Island Links
Played On 08/13/2018A fun day at Laurel Island Links
Despite the rain in the forecast, our group of 4 persisted & was rewarded with a wonderful time today at Laurel Island Links today. From Brunswick / Golden Isles, its an easy find east from I-95 driving south by taking Exit 6. From Jacksonville, its exit 4. The breeze & cloud cover made it comfortable much of the day. After a few minutes of sprinkling, the sun got pretty warm, but did not deter us. Water coolers are plentiful throughout the course. Golf shop employees were friendly & welcoming. Club house accommodations are well maintained. Pace of play was uneffected by groups in front of us. Laurel Island is one of our favorites & a frequent destination. It is a good value. GolfNow rates are a major part of that. Fairways were mowed well & greens are firm & in very good condition. A wide range of tee boxes cater to players of all levels. My guess is that the relatively rainy summer months have made refreshing bunkers with sand more difficult.
Longhills Golf Course
Played On 09/11/2017Longhills on the way back
Changes since addition of apartments is noticable on holes 5-9, but does not change the simple layout philosophy. I saw some complaints about the lack of fairway yardage markers, but with the various free smart phone golf GPS apps, there is little to be concerned about. Several holes of back 9 wind through the very nice houses that are beyond Longhills' swimming pool. Course provides lots of opportunities for birdies when you hit a nice drive, but if you want to use more of your clubs, teeing off with a "lesser" club can provide a different approach. Bermuda fairways are nicely mowed. Hitting it under the trees, near out of bounds will introduce players to some red clay patches where grass doesn't grow well because of the tree shade. Greens are firm, roll smoothly, but most could use some TLC. I'm sure the course superintendent would welcome the addition of some sand bottles on carts to fill iron divots. Regular rates for both cart & walkers are reasonable, but the more than 50% saving offered by GolfNow tee times make the decision to play Longhills. For those who played Longhills under the management of Jeff Hamm or Bill Martin, you ought to play it again - at least to reminise the good old days & support the continuation of public golf in the Benton area.
Sapelo Hammock Golf Club
Played On 08/25/2016Sapelo Hammock: Make it a priority to Play
Sapelo's course is in exceptional condtion & the coastal breeze kept it comfortable. Greens are smooth & pretty fast. The course, through Golf Now are running terrific rate specials that should significantly increase the lagging number of late summer players. You can bet we'll return soon & probably bring friends. Golfers will appreciate several distance options with variety of tee box lengths. Layout is beautiful with only a couple "surprises" hidden near doglegs. Club house facilities are very nice & staff makes you feel like a member. If hot dogs are not a favorite at the club house, don't be discouraged. Within 5 minutes of the course, there are local "hole in the wall" gems like Speed's Kitchen & Hunter's Cafe that will please any taste before or after a round of golf. There are several more local McIntosh eating options with wonderful reviews between Darien & Sapelo Hammock. With the local Shellman Bluff fish camp next door to the course, guests could easily spend a whole week playing golf & enjoying the beauty of the coastal rivers & marshes. It is also a great course to consider a couples outing, if your spouse plays too.
The King and Prince Beach & Golf Resort
Played On 08/18/2016Treasure worth driving to North SSI for
K&P was in very good condition. Aeration had been completed about 3 weeks ago, but greens are rolling quick & true. Course layout is great with a memorable tour out & along the marsh. Staff in pro shop was friendly & blended our group with a fourth player. This may initially sound bad, but we made a new friend that we would have missed otherwise. Discounting the drive to the north end, we had a wonderful time once we reached the golf course. This course is worth the drive, especially when GN rates are available. The facilities & locker room areas are very nice & would meet the standards of experienced golfers that play at ultra upper end courses.
Laurel Island Links
Played On 11/16/2015StrongRecommendation-GolfNowValue
Laurel Island Links is in tremendous condition & course has responded well from recent rain. It's much firmer & dryer than Jekyll Island courses & worth just an easy 20 minute drive from the Brunswick area for its fine lay out. Overseeding is complete & is already looking nice. Greens were smooth, true rolling at a moderate pace. The Davis Love course design is great, offering several tee choices to present a challenge to all levels of golfers. It's blend of openness & natural scenery lends itself to a wonderful experience. Club house staff was friendly. Our group booked on GolfNow took advantage of a "Hot Deal". When you can merge the GN deals with this course, it's as if they're giving golf away. Don't miss it!
Course has handled South Georgia rain & heat very well
Wonderful Golf Now value only slightly tempered by 93 degree heat. We enjoyed wide-open play, occasional breezes & as much air conditioning as the cart could safely create between holes. The course is in excellent condition. Only a couple greens are recovering a little slowly from an earlier spotty fungus, but all of them were smooth. The presence of water coolers on lots of holes was a real plus. Brooks was very friendly & great to deal with in the club house. The course's location just east of exit 26-off I-95 makes it very quick & easy to get to from Brunswick/Golden Isles, other southern Georgia & even north Florida communities. Don't miss a chance to experience golf @ Sanctuary Cove.
Heritage Oaks Golf Club

Course is in excellent condition. Travis & the other grounds crew continue to make a positive difference. Club house staff are friendly. Pre-payed a 1 pm GN special & almost felt guilty for taking advantage of probably the nicest public course in the Golden Isles. We could see other players occasionally, but pace was quick & unobstructed. GPS on carts make club selection easy. Continuing improvements have taken "grassy hazards" away; which a very welcome thing for almost all players. We'll be back soon!
Jekyll Island Golf Club - Great Dunes Course

Fantastic day on Jekyll Dunes. Course was dryer than expected & play was lots of fun. Gators are beginning to peek from ponds. Booking through GN is best bargain within 50 miles.

Another wonderful day of golf @ Jekyll Island. It's winter "snow bird" season, so expect lots of walkers.
Lakes Golf Course at Laura Walker State Park
Played On 11/11/2014Experience was wonderful, weather was perfect
If you've never tried this course, it's your loss. The "hot deal" on Golf Now runs frequently & almost makes you feel like you've won a free round. Course fairways are firm & result in excellent ball run, but any balls in the rough will challenge "locating" skills, then your striking ability. Come visit Lakes @ Laura Walker SP. It won't be your last trip there!
Jekyll Island Golf Club - Oleander Course
Played On 10/03/2014Overall course is excellent, several greens suffering from too much rain.
Excellent time, despite CPO, following another rainy week. As expected, little roll because of abundant rain. Pace of 1st nine was excellent, 2nd was slower due to tournament on Indian Mound & Pine Lakes closed for for the day for normal maintenance. Calling ahead this time of year is smart to check for special events & tournaments , especially if using GolfNow for estimate of rate of play. Mid-afternoon tee times will allow lots of wildlife sightings. I found twice as many nice balls as I lost.
Thank you for your review! We are glad you enjoyed your day on our course! Our staff aims to please our guests and we are grateful for your business! Come see us soon!
