I should have known it would be rustic when I was told "the 1st tee is down through the wash and don't give up you'll come to them eventually". The course is rough and not well layed out or marked. It is scenic but not worth the long drive from the Phoenix area.

There isn't even a sign telling you how to get to the 1st tee or 10th tee! On the course there are hazards with difficult to find cart crossings. The score card has no course map. All in all a frustrating day of golf

The two nines are totally different with the back being very interesting and picturesque. The marshals are active and pleasant.

Much different than most Arizona courses. Grassy rough and lots of trees reminds you of course up north during the summer

Western Skies Golf Club

The course is in good shape and the price was reasonable. The staff need to cut the volume on the country/western music to about 1/3 or better yet none at all. We heard it two holes away from the club house and it was distracting.

I'm sorry we didn't meet your expectations. Mr Doak designed the course to be "rustic" and not another "cookie cutter" design. We do, however, recognize there is room for improvement and are working to make the course better. We have also installed GPS in our carts to provide exact yardages and have, accordingly, reduced or eliminated much of the artificial markings that take away from the natural beauty of the course.
