Beautiful day at the golf course! Not a long wait (could only check in 10 minutes before tee time - expected), we only delayed a bit on the first hole but that was expected.
After that, pace went smoothly. Course overall is in great shape, and I liked that some of the concrete pathways had been repaired since the last time I was here. Greens in great shape. I will miss some of the larger eucalyptus that fell down and are no longer there, changed some of the approaches to a couple of holes (they're no longer in the way!).

Dad Miller Golf Course is in great shape! The Grounds Crew has been busy and it shows! The fairways are well sodded with virtually no patches for ground under repair and almost no brown spots. They were manicured very well. The rough could have used a trim, but then, it was refreshing to play it with slightly deeper than normal (for Dad Miller) rough. Greens were smooth, well maintained, and well watered. And the divot removal effort has paid off!

The weather was heavy dew in the morning that eventually burned off so by hole 16 or 17 it dried up. Course was in great shape, with the usual herd of deer found around several holes. A little slow at times only because a few groups wouldn't wave up on Par 3's, otherwise moved smoothly through the round.

Got off on time, ran at a smooth pace. Roughs were a little thick, but that was due to the recent rain and no chance to mow. Rain really helped fill in several spots that had been thinning. Overall, course in good shape. Would suggest a few greens to be rolled.

Slow came from "walking fivesomes" they let out early. Fairways and greens in good shape. Very little reminders of airiation from about 1 month ago.

Best of all, we had fun!

The GolfNow system did not link up correctly with the Costa Mesa Country Club system correctly and my reservation was incorrect. CMCC immediately adjusted for this and got us out almost on the same time as my reservation (1 group back!). Otherwise, everything else went well.

Course play was slow as they let out 5-somes which always makes for a longer day! Bunkers were "wet concrete". And since California is in a severe drought condition, I'm not sure where CMCC is getting all the excess water they lavishly applied everywhere! Too many places where we made "squishing" sounds as we drove and/or walked around! But it did make for more hold onthe greens!

Pre-dawn tee time allowed us to use "glow in the dark" balls for the first time! What a way to start on the first two holes! Course can get busy later as the morning progresses and launching 5 somes will slow it down - they don't require everyone in a 5 some to ride a cart!
