Short but challenging ... and one of the better conditioned courses!

As the twin to the Hammock Bay course, Raptor Bay provided plenty of a challenge although it doesn't play exceptionally long ... tapping-out just short of 6,500 yds from the tips. I played the Black (back tees) and found it a very good test especially on more than a handful of holes, where you were required to hit over long to very long forced carries to reach the fairways or greens. Keep it straight and you should be able to score reasonably well!

Wide open ... and in the middle of nowhere!

Frankly, not worth the drive to the bowels of SW Florida to play this boring ,wide open course that has absolutely no character nor challenge. Fairways are 100+ yds wide and if you can't hit them then don't bother playing golf! Greens were average and some a little more challenging then others.

Enjoyable at a reduced / discounted price!

Suggest playing this course ONLY if you can get it at a 25%+ or more discounted rate ... otherwise overpriced at the regular rate!

Prefer the Gold over the Black course, as it is slightly more forgiving. A good challenge off the tees and around the greens on most holes, with some forced carries on a few holes either off the tee or on the 2nd shots.

Thank you for spending the day with us and for leaving such an honest review. We are glad you got to play both courses. Did you know we recently remastered the Gold Course? We are going to do the same to the Black Course next year. We invite you to come back and see us. We think you are going to love the changes. Come back and visit real soon!

Flamingo better than Mustang!

Have played both courses multiple times over the past two winter seasons and enjoy Flamingo's layout over Mustang's. These courses are always busy and the staff, especially the starter, do their utmost to get you off on or before your designated tee time. Flamingo is an average to an above average course relative to the other top-rated/recommended courses I've played here in SW Florida.

Lightning fast, truest greens we played!

Played most of the top courses in SW Florida (Tiburon, Twin Eagles, Old Corkscrew, TPC Treviso Bay, ... ) and Bonita Bay - Sabal ranks right up there among the best. On the day we played the greens were running 12+ and very true. As always, if you can get on the course at a discounted price then it makes the whole experience even more enjoyable!

Good value ... challenging track!

We played this course after playing some of the premium courses in the San Diego area (Torrey Pines, Pelican Hill) and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Well worth it when you play during non-peak hours

Probably the most challenging course I've played in south-west Florida. I've been coming to the Fort Myers / Naples area for almost 20 years and I always look forward to playing at Old Corkscrew. The difficulty of the course is heightened if it's windy. Differs from many of the traditional Florida course layouts as there are elevation changes on most holes and generally shot-making is required in order to be successful. The low to higher handicap golfer will enjoy playing this course from the variety of tees. Don't use the distances on the card to determine which tees you play from - play the course using only the slope as your guide.

Not recommended - nothing special!

Played North twice due to tournament. Played Gold (tips) tees 3,128 yds, narrow layout, traditional Florida track, nothing special, relatively flat, some goofy holes - wouldn't recommend playing this course.
