Los Lagos at Costa Mesa Golf & Country Club
Played On 11/22/2020Nice Course - if you have 7 hours to play
The course is great, fun layout, well taken care of, the only consistent problem I’ve had at this course is pace of play. The Marshalls don’t enforce any pace of play, and you find yourself sitting at a line of the tee box for 20 minutes sometimes.
Most recent, it took 2 hours to complete 7 holes. Last time it was 5 hours to complete 12 holes. I have yet to have the chance to complete this course, yet alone do it in less than a day.
It’s super cheap though, so can’t complain too much, just know you’ll spend most of your time waiting for someone to get off of a green, and with little to no enforcement of pace of play that can ruin the full experience . This place could easily be one of the best public courses in OC if they had some form of regulation for people moving at a decent time pace. Maybe even scheduling tee times further out or combining groups better would help if they can’t get a Marshall to actually do rounds and patrol.
