Robert A. Black Golf Club
Played On 05/26/2014Decent city 9er track
You are playing in a lower-middle class public park. Expect plenty of bikers/walkers on perimeter. We started 20 mins after tee-time. Play was slow, but tolerable. Not bad shape considering our winter. Don't let scorecard length fool you--some nice holes here. Good track to walk. Bunkers neglected.
Desert Pines Golf Club
Played On 10/17/2013Decent course - Amazing customer service
Visited in mid-October. From arrival requiring luggage being stored, to prepping clubs from my travel bag, to personal service to driving range, everything was focused on their guests! It was 20 min cab to course, and in a middle-class area (no villas and mansions in this area). The course was in good (not great) shape. The greens were a little too sandy, and practice green was in much better shape. The double-decker driving range was in tight netted quarters, but a great use of limited space. Will certainly consider return on next visit.
Lombard Golf Course
Played On 7/13/2013Decent, Slow, Serves its purpose
Nothing fancy here. Just a good place for a 9er. OK condition, but pace was slow, and we were 25 minutes late for tee time (apparently due to bad planning for a morning league that was lapping twice?). Apparently, no real dress code either.
