Pine Ridge Golf Club
Played On 10/19/2023Course not maintained
This is a nicely laid out course with interesting holes, but the condition of the fairways is abominable. We had no sand on our cart to fill in divits. You wonder if the course is going out of business. I felt insulted seeing split rail fences by the tees falling apart, and the tees themselves full of bald spots. There was no starter to put groups together and keep things moving.
Poxabogue Golf Center

When I'm going out to East Hampton to visit a friend, I love to spend some time at Poxabogue in Wainscott. You can hit balls on GRASS if you go way down to the end. And 50 balls costs $5. Booking with GolfAdvisor, I paid a bargain $10 plus GA's $3 booking fee to play. I did rent a pull cart which was $5. It is a 9 hole course. One of the holes is only 67 yards. Most are reasonable lengths; you can hit a driver on at least three. According to my confirmation, I could have played 18 holes, but it was too hot and I didn't have time. People who do not play golf go there for the restaurant which has chairs outside and inside, and a diner-like menu. "Breakfast all Day" the sign says. The course was in excellent shape, including the greens. Since last year, a new, large putting green has been built between the parking lot and the practice range. I was one of the few people on the course, so I zipped around, and hit an extra ball here and there. (Don't te!!).
Island's End Golf & Country Club
Played On 08/30/2014Nice starter
As a lone female player, I was fairly certain I would be paired with men, and was concerned that they wouldn't be happy having a woman join them. The starter was so helpful and reassuring. My playing companions were gracious, especially so since the starter had let them know of my trepidations. So along with a fine course, easy check -in, and great weather, this made for a five-star experience. View of the sound from hole 16 is spectacular.
