Pembroke Country Club
Played On 05/25/2016Challenging layout
This course has had a lot of monet put into it and overall conditions were good. The greens were firm and not very receptive. A few of the party 4's were absolute beasts, forcing you to either take on a long, forced carry water hazzard, or to fit your tee shot into a tight area. Part 3's were challenging but fair. You will have to be striking the ball very well to score here.
Rehoboth Country Club
Played On 08/02/2015Great year for this course
This course has seen its share of tough summers and tough conditions. This year, from spring though mid summer, Rehoboth Country Club is in the best condition that i have ever seen in 30 yeyrs of playing here. The greens are in great shape, although the design of the huge greens has never evolved with superintendent technologies. They are mostly sloped severely front to back, making puts from the side of the hole extremely difficult. Missing low ensures a longer put coming up. The design is classic with a good mix of easy and difficult holes. Also a good mix of long and short par 3's. Bring your putting game because scoring will be difficult without it.
Highfields Golf & Country Club
Played On 07/27/2015Good challenge, great conditions
This course was a great deal of fun to play. That being said, dont expect to score your career best here. The greens are very deceiving. Take notes for your next round here, as the breaks in the greens are often opposite of what they appear. Don't Be afraid of the distance. Not only does the ball run out, but there are no straight holes, so well placed shots cut off many yards. Private conditions and a very pretty course.
Fall River Country Club
Played On 07/22/2015poor back 9 design
I enjoyed the front 9. Greens were fair but not overly fast. When we made the turn, things got unpleasant. The 10th hole demands a draw. If you cant draw the ball, you must start your tee shot over a river bed, or risk going into a bunker at best or out of bounds right. The second hole. Is a short par 4. If you dont hit the right hand half of a narrow fairway, you have to try to draw a short iron around the trees to get to a narrow multi-tiered green. The 17th hole is a ridiculous v shaped par 4. The green is almost behind the tee. Overall, this is a private course with member for a day privileges, but they wont entice many members with this layout. Tough is one thing, gimicks are another.
