This used to be a nice course but it's just gone downhill year after year. Idk how people keep giving this place 4 stars. It's 3 at best! 3 is average people and you can honestly look at this course and tell me it's average. It's below average. Bunkers unplayable, tee boxes very uneven so much so it's a distraction on 13/18 holes. Greens were ok but other than that the course is pretty rough.

Played this course many times. Tee boxes, greens, and fairway in good shape but as usual the bunkers are trash. Until they actually put sand in the bunkers I can't give the course better than a 3/5. Bunkers will put gashes in your sand wedge from large rocks laying under the dirt on some holes. I don't play bunkers here bucause they haven't added any sand to them in 8 years. Course plays narrow but can be fun if you hit straight.

Playing conditions better than most other piblic courses in the area for the price. Sure you can find a nicer course but you will be paying $100 for a round in the morning in the winter. I'll be back it's a fun course.

This course is surch a breath of fresh air compared all the Tucson area courses. Ever since covid I feel like all the couses have gone to crap around here and stopped watering their grass. Here are some highlights of my round here that will definitely make me come back.

Customer service was a 5/5. The greeter came to my car and grabbed my bag out of my trunk while I was trying to pile on thenl sunscreen. I've never had anyone do this and half the time when there is a bagagge drop the greeters just sit around and stare at you. Outstanding service from the staff.

Coure conditions where leaps and bounds above other public courses in the area. The bunkers actually had sand! The rough was actually alive and growing. Fairways were fantastic. A few dry grass patches here and there but never any dirt. Greens putt well and were perfect.

This course also stunning! Back 9 can be a challenge so bring lots of balls and be prepared for some serious forced carries. If you can't get out the tee box go elsewhere. Pace of play. Was slow around 4 hours 45 min.

This is a tough course. Not recommended if you can't shoot below 100 for 18 holes. Course is in good shape but there is still a lot of room for improvement.
Course Conditions on 7/17/21:
Tee boxes- 4.5/5 No complaints.
Fairways- 3/5 Good but not fantastic. Few dead dirt patches here and there but nothing that affected scoring. I've seen the fairways in better shape here in the summer but they are better than most places in Tucson right now.
Rough- 4/5 At least they have grass for the rough instead of hard pan.
Greens- 4/5 Greens were in great shape but put slow as do all courses in Tucson.
Bunkers- 0/5 Bunkers not even playable. Large rocks and dirt so hard and compacted it will liberally put a gash in your wedge and I'm not joking. This is my biggest gripe with del Lago. They really need to fix the bunkers.
Driving range: 4.5/5 best tee boxes on a range in tucson I know of.

First time playing here. Had a very very good experience. Pace of play was fantastic and the course layout was very interesting, fun, challenging, and rewarding. This is the best designed course in the Tucson area in my opinion that has something for everyone. It has holes where you can try to smash the driver without getting penalized, and also holes that require precision and control off the tee and on approach shots. The course design even has a St. Andrews feel to a couple of the holes with the rest being more of a desert oasis feel with the water on the course. The service was outstanding as well with the staff being very friendly and informative about the course, the carts and the gps. Course conditions were very good from tee to green including the bunkers which actually had good sand in them. My only complaint is that the course played on the dry side. The turf was quite firm but definitely was not hard pan. Just seemed like it was hard to take a nice soft divot. No major dead spots or dirt patches though. I loved my experience here and loved the course. I will be back!

I've played Haven probably 7 or 8 times in the last 9 months and it's always a good choice. The course conditions are not immaculate, but they also never let me down unlike many courses in Tucson that let their conditions turn to hard pan. Here are how the conditions played on my most recent round at Haven on 5/1/21.

Tee Boxes:4/5
Fairways: 4.5/5 Actually fluffy, well watered, and green. Very happy with the fairways
Rough: 3/5 At least there is grass to hit from on most of the time, weeds and dead patches in some areas but miles ahead many other courses in the Tucson area where the rough is just hard pan.
Bunkers: 3/5 At least it's not a hard pan bunker and were raked, but they could use some more fluffy sand. Sand played heavy despite it not being wet.
Greens: 4/5 The greens are in really great shape, they just always put too slow here. Even just a little more speed on these greens would start to make this course feel like a really high end course. There is also usually grass around the greens unless you miss by 15+ yards then the lie is questionable (could be dirt, or grass, or a mix of both).

If they could tidy up the rough a little, get some nicer fluffy sand in the bunkers, and speed up the greens this could easily be in the top 5 best courses for conditions in the Tucson area. For $35 it's the best course in all of Tucson area because the conditions are generally quite nice.

I'm very disappointed in the conditions of the course for the price. I paid $72 (afternoon tee time) and the course played like a $30 hard pan city course. Here are how the conditions played on 3/6/21.

Tee Boxes: 4/5 They where green and well taken care of
Fairway: 2/5 Fairway was green but they buzzed the grass down so short that it was like playing off a hard pan super tight lie. Really hurt my scoring, what happened to fluffy fairways?
Rough: 0/5 Dormant, I really hate that all the courses let their rough die in the winter.
Greens: 4/5 Greens were good but not fantastic. Green speed good although it was on the slow side, but not painfully slow.
Bunkers: 1/5 Terrible bunkers. Large rocks in the bunkers that put gashes in your wedges. I gave up and stopped playing the bunkers after the 3rd hole because they were that bad. If rocks were not bad enough the sand was terrible too.

Overall disappointed in the course conditions. There are a lot better conditions for around $35 or $50 in the area. This is a great course, it just needs some work on the fairways and bunkers. Hope they can get it ready before the summer heat.

Tee boxes, fairways and greens in exellent condition. Course has some incredible holes. Challenging yet playable course. 7 or 9 holes have stunning, fun, and dramatic elevation changes. Just a fun fun course. Makes it on my list as one of my top 5 favorite courses in the Tucson area.

Been here multiple times and conditions are usually very nice but this time the conditions were very disappointing. Tee boxes were ok and greens were nice but everywhere else the grass was very blotchy, dying, mixed with weeds, or was just dirt. Even in the middle of the fairway there were holes where you were hitting from dying grass and dirt. Miss the fairway and your playing from dead grass, miss the green by 3 yards and it's dirt or dead grass. Wont be back for a while.

Played this course in back in 2016 and it was in really good shape. Decided to come back and boy was I disappointed. The bunkers were horrific and had more weeds than sand. Sand was super heavy and tough to play from and was more like wet clay mixed with really old coarse sand. Greens were also in rough shape on some holes. The played quite fast and didn't hold shots into the green even with an 8 iron. Fairways were in good shape though and tee boxes were ok. There is a huge mosquito problem as well so if you go bring bug spray. I was happy with the service of the staff though. I was unaware of the mosquito problem and a kind lady who worked for the course asked if I had any bug spray. I told her no and she told me to go into the club house and borrow theirs which made me really happy because boy did I need it.

Greens in great shape. Fairways didn't look green but were soft, well watered, and in really good shape, just looked brown for some reason. Tee boxes were in great shape as well. I like this course a lot. Challenging yet playable. I will be back to play here again. Only complaint was that the driving range tee box was trash. It looked more like saw dust and dirt that it did a driving range. Other than that the course is well taken care of!

I can't saw enough good things about this place. Course is always in top shape, green grass, lush tee boxes, amazing views of the foothills, challenging layout bit still really fun, the list goes on. The best part is that this place is really affordable! I've paid more at Tucson city courses for way worse conditions than this place. This is hands down the one of the top 5 nicest courses in Tucson and it costs half the price as Starr Pass, Dove Mountian, or Ventana Canyon. My favorite so far in the area!

First time playing this course and was surprised by all the negative reviews about the course conditions because none were true. I thought the course was in great shape! Sure if you don't find the fairway you can end up in some tall grass or dirt but that's typical for AZ. Fairways were in great shape, tee boxes as well and the greens were well kept. There were a few overly wet holes but it really didnt bother me. I'd rather have wet fairways than dry dead grass. I'd recommend this course!

Great little par 3 course! It's actually a ton of fun and is a great way to tune up your short game. I've recently had an issue with blading those 40-65 yard shots and this is a great place to get rid of that issue without all the pressure of being on the real course. Would play again. Only gripe is that it's a little expensive for a par 3. I paid $25 but for $7 more you can get a tee time for the full size course.

I've played here twice now and both times had a really good experience. The greens and fairways were in great shape and the layout of the course make for a fun round. The staff had great customer service and multiple people around to help. Lots of water on the course and overall had a great experience. Definitely will be back to play again. If only this course was closer to where I live or I'd make this my go to course for a quick round.

This course is a blast. Definitely challenging yet rewards you with forgiveness when you need it on a few holes. Greens where in amazing shape although on the slow side. Fairways were overall in really good shape with the exception of some dirt patches they had blocked off where they where in the process of laying sod. They had about 6 or so people out there working to put sod in though so looks like they are trying to improve the conditions. I'll be back to play again, worth the $30 for an early tee time.
