Playing my first round at Heron Bay was challenging, fair and fun! I can see how this course was a great venue for a PGA event years ago. Anyone who wants to be challenged should come out here and play a round. The tee boxes were great, fairways well kept and the greens were good. I definitely will come back.

When I made my tee time I expected an average experience based upon all the reviews I read. This course is hot! From tee to green the playing experience was great. The pace of play was average and the 19th hole was above average. I felt as if I was in the country because the course layout and location. Just five minutes from the parks and resorts. I am already thinking of returning.

I was very happy with the staff's willingness to par me up with a couple of members. The members were cordial and willing to provide advice of the course layout and recommendations of where to place my shots. The course clubhouse was quaint but needs some upgrades. The course itself was OK. The fairways and greens were very firm (dry). I would not come back and play because there are plenty of quality golf courses in San Antonio.
