Played On 08/22/2021Totally gave up on bunkers
Tee to green grass was cut and taken care of. Bunkers however haven’t been touched for the year. All but a handful were full of water. Some with tadpoles swimming and pond weeds growing so don’t let them fool you with the recent rain excuse. The 1 yes 1 that I saw without water, had veins running all over through it. If you’re going to have 40+(Just an educated guess) bunkers, they are an intricate part of the course and can’t just be forgotten about and still pay top dollar to play.

Well rounded course with a mix of target golf and straight away bomb it holes. Course starts off with some non-driver position holes then builds up to some tight and lengthy holes. Tees, greens and fairways in good shape. Bunkers were a little rough but they have been taken care of. Lots of unrepaired ball marks on greens which isn’t the courses fault but the clientele’s. Repaired many every hole. Played on a Saturday early as a twosome and never waited. Will play again when in the area.
Eagle Dunes Golf Club
Played On 01/16/2020Great day
Course was in good shape with the exception of hole 7 where it appeared like the ground was washed out and there were 3 ft deep trenches. Greens were top dressed so putts were a little slow in the early morning but sped up when it dried out.

Played On 01/15/2020Needs help with greens
Played here 10 years ago and it was a first rate course. Super excited to go back. Unfortunately the greens were less than ideal. Many greens had invasive grasses and it really seems like they left them grow out shrinking their size. I could be wrong there but looking at the bunker positions and the size of some of the greens, it looks like they had to be designed bigger. Tees and fairways were good. I would rather see less than perfect tees and fairways with great greens. Will try somewhere else local.
Fox Hollow Golf Club
Played On 11/08/2019Great choice
Stopped in for a round on the way to the shore and although it was 35 degrees and 15mph winds and I was the only one out playing, the grounds crew was hard at work raking traps and blowing leaves. Course was in great shape despite the time of year. Didn’t use range or snack bar or grill. Course set up good for 1st timer. No trick holes.
Thank you so much for your review! We are happy you decided to stop by and enjoyed our course. We value your feedback, and hope to see you back soon.

Absolutely great course even in off season. Fescue lined fairways that were thankfully mowed for the end of the season. Would be brutal in summer for my errant tee shots. Awesome practice area. Surprisingly full on a Wednesday morning in November. Greens were aerated 2 weeks prior and not grown in but they were quick and still rolled pretty true. Course is 1 1/2 hrs from home or would play more often.
Furnace Bay Golf Course
Played On 10/12/2019COULD be a great course
However the current conditions warrant it mediocre at best. Tees mostly bare, fairways mostly junk grass and patchy, greens have some junk grass are patchy and bumpy. Front 9 has a few hard doglegs. #2 is border line unfair from blues. Need a 260 drive with less than 10 yards of side movement coming out of chute to have anything more than a PW 2nd shot on a par 5. Other hard doglegs require position shots with only around 20 yards of play so distance is critical. Other than clubhouse attendant and snack lady, I didn’t see another worker on a Saturday morning. With some attention this could be a great course. 1st 2some out so cruised in 3 hrs. Wouldn’t play again in current condition. If you just want to go out a knock a ball around it will due.
The Wetlands Golf Course
Played On 10/10/2019Nice course
1st time playing and overall it was a good course. With that being said there were some things that could have been better. The grass on the tees were very high. Not a big issue with driver but if trying to hit 3 wood through irons, you almost had to play for a flyer lie since the grass would be between the ball and clubface. Fairways could have been shorter but not as bad as tees. They emphasize ball mark repair and it must work because there were very few old brown ball marks. Good job. Course not tricked up but if you play from the blues it’s a long front 9. Much shorter back. Early start 2 some so got through in 3hrs. Great finishing hole. Add some crosswind and it’s very difficult.
Jack Frost National Golf Course
Played On 09/19/2019Worth the trip
Actually played this course 2 weeks in a row since we enjoyed it so much the 1 st time. This week the greens firmed up and were faster than last week. Had to keep balls below the hole which is difficult since the undulating greens can’t be read from the fairway. We have been the 1st group out so we are able to breeze through. Fairways are wide but course isn’t too forgiving when you hit errant shots. A couple blind shots off the tees can lead to lost balls if you don’t know the course. Still haven’t figured out tee shot off hole 10. Hole length misleading since many long holes are downhill and might need something other than driver which makes it more of a position course than a bombers course. Great range and practice area. Indoor and outdoor food.
That's awesome! Thanks for playing 36 holes with us. Our track is strategic and an appropriate challenge for golfers of all ages and skills. We hope you make it back to Jack Frost again soon. Thanks!
Sand Springs Golf Course
Played On 08/15/2019She’ll of its former self
Was extremely disappointed in seeing what seems to be the course being left go. Tees were mostly crab grass. Fairways were patchy and brown. Greens had big bare spots and were cut high. This used to be a top notch course but not in its current state. We had a deal so it was still a value for the money but would never play full price. I drove 1.5 hours to get there and even with the deal would not go back.
Thank you for reviewing the course. Let us first start by apologizing for the poor experience you had during your visit. Your feedback about the course is important to us. We have projects ongoing to and the current condition is by no means the standard we strive to achieve. We will continue to work towards an excellent experience by using your comment for guidance. Thank you for playing Sand Springs Country Club. We hope to see you again soon.

Checked internet price and from 6:15-8:00am it was listed for $32 to ride. Booked for 8am. I was last of our 4some to pay and was told it was $38. Asked if the internet price was different and they said no so I said I thought it was cheaper than that on the internet. He slapped a printout on the counter and said here, 8am-11am it’s $38. So I said that from 6:15-8:00 it’s $32 and I’m @8. He looked at me and said,”do you want to play or don’t you!” Asked for range token and in process of ringing me up, it didn’t go through so had to do it again. In return he gave me the $4 token for free for “jerking me around” as he put it. So I was overcharged $6 but got $4 back and ended up net minus $2. However, the other 3 in the group were overcharged the $6 so the course netted $20 off our 4some. This must be the acceptable practice: give me your money and move along.
6:15-8 am is $32. So how can they have the next slot run from 8 am-11am? My time was 8am. 8 am is included in both slots and I was charged the higher rate. It needs to be advertised as 6:15-7:59.
To give the course the benefit of the doubt, most if not all courses I've played switch to the higher rates as soon as possible. From 6:15 to say 7:52 it might be $32, but the next tee time at 8:00 is $38.
Linfield National Golf Club
Played On 06/30/2017Short and tight
Course yardage isn't correct. Played some holes that said they were 400 yards and only really 350ish. Leave your driver at home if you can hit it 250 off the tee. Played from blues and only hit driver 3 times. Most holes really play with drives of 215-225 from blues. Some hidden trouble if you've never played before. Very positional. Course in good shape but it is cramped so if you're playing during a busy time, be aware of errant balls. Made some notes for the next visit. Very pleased for 1st visit.
Flying Hills Golf Club
Played On 05/19/2017Tough little course
Short in length but makes up with tight fairways and some high rough. Rough not so high you can't play out but will affect control. Greens very thick and lush which made the slower than they were on previous rounds but with some of the slopes you don't want real fast greens. Overall course was in good shape. 1 person net to hit into at back of 1st tee for some warm up. Putting green is strictly there for display since it is never mowed to putting green length. Great bar and grill across parking lot to eat and get a drink after round.

Wasn't sure what I was going to find but it turned out that I played this course 20yrs ago. Layout is forgiving but does have a couple demanding holes. Fairways were dormant but greens were rolling smooth. Isn't as demanding as some of the surrounding courses so it's the perfect course to ease into your trip.

Good layout set among trees and housing. Generouse landing areas. Fair layout for average golfer. Course still soft from rain 4 days ago so drainage not that good. Greens rolling quick and smooth.

Great layout that keeps you interested where all holes are different. Some traps deep and narrow which leads to stances not for the regular golfer. Rained day before so cart path only due to upcoming junior nationals. Led to a 5hr round while keeping up with group in front. Didn't have 1soft lie so could have easily been able to drive on fairway. They said greens were running 9.5 which was slower than the normal 10.5 but I feel that was more suitable for average golfer.

Played Presidential course and it wasn't our 1st time. Like the layout and the course was well kept. A little too much maybe since it seems over watered. Balls dug into the greens even though there hasn't been any rain. Won't be going back any time soon and 2 of our 4-some don't want to come back at all. mostly because of the pin positions. Played on a Monday morning and was the 1st group to go out so there wasn't any pace of play issues but there were at least 10 greens that had the pins placed on slopes so if you were on the wrong side of the hole you couldn't stop the ball. The course itself is hard but when you add unfair pin placements it doesn't add up to a fun round. 2 of us log a handicap but as per USGA specs. they are not abiding by the rules. Here is an excerpt for those interested:The USGA suggests that at least a 2-foot radius surrounding the hole “should be as nearly level as possible and of uniform grade.” The hole shouldn’t be placed on a steep slope on which a missed putt from above the hole will roll a long distance past the cup. “A player above the hole should be able to stop the ball at the hole,” according to Rule 15-3(iii).
Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry that we didn't meet expectations and that you found our pin positions troublesome. We appreciate you expressing your concerns with us. We hope to see you again soon!

Played On 03/23/2016Dissappointing
Played here a lot in my younger years but stopped going because fairways were never mowed short. Went back after 20 years and very excited to revisit. The greens were terrible for putting. Don't think they were mowed this season and there was patches of long grass. Greens were the slowest I've played on in years and I play 30+ rounds a year. I know it's early but I have been playing weekly since Jan. with the exception of when ground was covered in snow and these were the worst greens I've played on. Maybe in late spring and summer the greens will be good. However, we won't be hurrying back. There are many other courses in better shape.

Played the West course. Some greens still have patchy spots. Course in so-so condition. Would not have been worth playing at full price.
