West at Grandover Resort
Played On 07/24/2019Cart Path Only on day I played
It rained very heavy the day before I played. I wasn't surprised the course was cart path only and realistically was the correct choice. However, this course is not cart path only friendly. Nearly every hole has large steep hills leading down into the fairway. Otherwise the greens course was in amazing shape. The tee boxes were even and well maintained, fairways were a bit soft but nicely mowed. The rough gave some challenge. The greens were soft (Left divot on every hole), but rolled smooth and true.
Vidanta Vallarta Course at Vidanta Nuevo Nayarit-Vallarta

I chose this course, because it was a Greg Norman Signature course. However, the name is where it ends. Once you got past direction signs to get you the 3 miles to the course on a golf cart. There was nothing else that said Greg Norman. Nothing in the Proshop showed Greg Norman or Jack Nicholas (another signature course on the property).
Most of the staff were very nice and greeted me with a smile. My cashier was having a bad day it seemed, he was a bit grumpy. haha
David my caddy was very knowledgeable of the course and very friendly. I would not of completed the round without him, literally. I started with 3 balls and lost 2 on the 1st water hazard. David was able to find a couple other balls along the way. Website stated there was a $25 mandatory caddy fee paid directly to the caddy, but when I gave David the fee he was very surprised and acted as if he didn't understand why I gave it to him.
The course itself was nice and in good condition for the season. Course was challenging for an below average golfer, but anyone else would score well on it. Lots of water and sand. Greens were very hard and fast. Course was clean and well kept. Played better courses in Las Vegas and NC, played worse courses in both places.
