Greg Mastriona Golf Courses at Hyland Hills - Gold Course
Played On 08/07/2023Pace of playing
5 plus hours to play 18 holes is totally unacceptable! Group in front of us, took 10/15 to putt. Never saw a marshal keeping track of time...
Mesquite Golf Course
Played On 05/26/2023Front 9
The course is in great shape and for the money is hard to go wrong! The greens on the front 9 are super hard!! Not fast, but lots of sloppy greens. Below the hole putts would help score better. The greens on the back 9 are more flat and play more true! Again, I don't think the greens play super fast, they just slope way to much and pin locations are a bit to much!
Over all, great track for the money!

The greens were terrible! They need some work for sure. Not a $50 track according to the greens
More like $20..
The Golf Club at Margaritaville Lake Resort, Lake Conroe
Played On 04/09/2021Bad greens
Well, for a $50 track I expected the greens to be in good condition. Most of the greens were in terrible condition! I never played such bad greens, some of the greens had dirty/mud and tons fungus growing everywhere. Very uneven for sure. Can't roll a put!
The fairways were in good condition. This should be more like a $25 track. Very disappointed for sure!
While the golf course is still open for play, we are aware that current conditions are not ideal and this is due to a variety of reasons, including our mid-February historically low temperatures. What we are experiencing is not an isolated situation, and many golf courses throughout Texas are seeing the same challenges in recovering their course conditions.
The resort has an aggressive fertilization and maintenance plan in place to assist in restoring the golf course, in particular the greens, to a much better playing condition. We are optimistic that once temperatures reach a consistent low of 70 degrees, our efforts will take root and our course will once again become an ideal place to play and provide the perfect Margaritaville golf experience that you truly deserve.
Our team appreciates your patience during this time, and looks forward to seeing you here often in the future... and to sunnier days ahead!
