Play somewhere else

My son and I played today. The rate was a little higher than others for an afternoon round. I expected more from a resort course. First thing you notice is the cart paths are in awful shape, torn up in many spots. The grass in fringe areas was very spotty. Landscaping was subpar. The layout was decent, very resort-like. They put these plastic liners in the cups rather than using spray paint. They were frequently above ground so we had to fix the holes several times. Once it was completely out of the cup. GPS system on the carts was very nice and accurate, but big brother decided that a few fairways were off limits so the cart would stop and angrily beep at you. Do yourself a fa or and play Dolphin Head or Oyster Reef. Great courses and nicer experience.

Nice, but a little tricked up

My son and I played this course yesterday. We had played Dolphin Head the day before, and since Arthur Hills was higher priced, I expected a higher caliber course. The first thing to note is that it doesn't do GolfNow, so you won't find any hot deals. The staff was not overly friendly, but acceptable. The course was in good shape, tee to green. My biggest complaint was that the back nine seemed tricked up. Just not traditional golf. And houses are abundant. Bottom line, I wish I would have played Dolphin Head a second time. Much more scenic and way less expensive.

Hidden gem

Located on the far north end of the island, it takes a little time to get to Dolphin Head. But it is worth the drive. A very well kept, tree-lined course with great views. Tees, fairways, rough and greens were all in excellent shape when I played. The layout is a good mix of doglegs and straight holes, although wayward shots can get you in trouble on most holes. I mostly enjoyed the peacefulness. You aren't surrounded with houses and patios. You rarely hear anything but the sounds of nature. Skip the higher priced courses and drive out to this diamond in the rough.
