People out there are nice. It is a nice place for a round of golf with the flexibility of three nines to help manage the pace of play

Greens in very good shape. Fairways starting to thin slightly due to season/ type of grass. Bunkers could use a little care. Staff is good and overall experience is consistently good.

Unique course in the area, more elevation change than other clubs. Amenities a plus. Greens in great shape September 2022. Sand traps could use a lot of work. Fairways were good. Pretty tight on some holes.

Very enjoyable par 3 experience. Pretty significant forced carries for a par 3. Back tees will challenge the average player on certain holes. Experimental greens can be a little distracting depending on pin placement - lots of marking paint on some greens for the testing of grasses. A very good walk and good test of short game. Staff was A+.

Staff is great. Laid back atmosphere. Greens in good shape and roll true but slow. Fairways are narrow on a couple holes but in decent shape. Due to type of grass the fairways tend to get thin in spots. Pace was slow on a hot Sunday but is usually better. Not in a subdivision, which is a nice plus.

Enjoyable day, friendly staff and pro shop was better stocked than some other courses on the island. Gps a must- you cannot see all the water hazards until you are right up on them. Difficult to see the front edge of some water to shoot with laser, ergo use a gps based app. The carts do not have video screens (as of July 2022). Nice tracks, saw some wildlife but did not see a single gator.

Everyone was great but stuck behind a slow group and could have used some help from a marahall.

Eveeyone at the course was very nice, in the pro shop, starter, cart help and cart girl all 5 stars. Layout very good for me with enough trouble to make you think but not so much that it wears you down. We were unfortunately stuck behind a couple of groups that each had a non golfer trying to play, and those playing with them were being exceedingly patient and possibly giving a very painful and ultimately futile playing lesson. Pace was 5 hours and the bad part of that is i played an afternoon time to avoid the morning crowds. I know it is tricky to have the marshall enforce pace and end up getting nasty internet reviews. Take heart, all golf courses everywhere, those of us that can play at your recommended pace know who are writing those reviews and we’d be fine if those guys don’t show up next time.

July 2021- greens and fairways in very good shape. Greens a little furry but true. Sand traps were really mini lakes, owing to recent rain. I don’t mind that too much though, as when there is over a foot of water in a sand trap i will make am executive decision that the trap is ground under repair. I liked the variety of shots, some tee shots are wide open and some are tight. Does not seem to favor a drawer over a fader too much, in other words both could do well. Some of the yardages were far off of the scorecard, sometimes 30 or 40 yards (obviously further or it wouldn’t be an issue ;)). Gps or laser is a must.
Amenities and facilities were very good, no complaints at all. Staff is very nice. Would play here again.

Good atmosphere and easy going country golf. Fairways a little thin. Greens slow but roll true.

Love this course. Challenging but fair. Has flat sections and also some big hills for variety. Bunkers are in good shape and strategically placed, not excessive and random (I’m looking at you, Vinaterra). I would play here more often but for the location... my golf buds are from south side and this is above Ashland. I like to say you go through h e double toothpicks to get here — literally my route goes through state rt. 666. But holes # 3.4 and 5 remind me of almost heaven, WV. In some places the ground is unusually hard for a riverside course, but mostly the conditions were very good. Greens were in good shape. If they had a teleportation device i would probably be a member here.

Staff were very nice. Played right after greens were punched but there was a discount to reflect that. Greens were still true and fair but of course slow as expected. Fairways in good shape. Only real complaint is that it was not forewarned that there were a lot of forced carries and if you hit left or right the rough gets thick very fast, so there is a greater chance of a lost ball compared to other courses. The description emphasizes views of water- if you are a 30 hdcp like me, be aware that your ball is likely to get an even better view of the water. Overall a solid course best suited to golfers looking for a fair but tough challenge.

Cannot think of any major criticism. Five star experience. Especially loved the pine needle straw around the trees- made it easy to find my ball if it went a little east/west.
