Middletown Country Club

I was looking forward to this course but will never go back. From the start I should of known just to turn around. They triple booked the times and it took me 5 hours to golf. It took so long the pace was not enjoyable and very frustrating. They even let a group of 5 play together. It was backed up on every single hole and social distancing was not a thing at this course at all.

For the time of year the course was very nice. T boxes were flat and not full of divots and the sand was actually sand. Did not wait at all, went off smooth, only negative was a little pricy.

Thank you for your review, u314159813850. We will pass along your positive experience to our team at Golden Pheasant Golf Club. We look forward to seeing you again soon.
In regards to the reviews recently posted, Middletown Country Club has been following any and all guidance from the Pennsylvania Allied Golf Associations regarding social distancing and proper health measures set forth by the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
Middletown does not, and will not, “triple book”, as was mentioned in one review. In fact, we instituted a policy of blocking every third tee time so that proper tee intervals are met. Our “normal” tee times are set every nine minutes, while we are now running at the mandated twelve minute time. A starter will not let the group on #1 tee hit their first tee shot until the group ahead has reached the first green on the nearly 400-yard hole.
Also, the “VIP” group that was mentioned was actually a group that had booked online and inadvertently booked on the wrong day and traveled quite a distance to arrive. As far as a five some playing, I am not aware of any fivesomes playing on any day mentioned. There were several groups that booked with five players, a three some and a twosome. They were all told that they COULD not play together on the tee. Without the ability to have a “ranger” with our mandated staff limitations, this may have occurred on the course after a few holes. We will certainly pay attention to this as we do not want anyone having an issue.
As far as pace of play is concerned, during the past two weeks since our return to play, our pace has been very good considering that most of our players have not played in almost eight weeks. Average rounds have been in the 3:40-4:15 range. We know this by the fact that we have had little issues getting carts back off the course, properly cleaned and disinfected, and ready for play. If there were issues with long rounds, we would have experienced numerous tee times waiting for carts to come off the course. This has not happened so far.
As far as the golf course is concerned, we are preparing to open our two new greens this weekend. We were on track to open these earlier before our shutdown set us back several weeks. We are very excited about these. The golf course is in great shape coming out of our shutdown and getting even better.
We want to thank all of our golfers that have been following the protocols during this unprecedented time-wearing masks in the parking lots and check in, keeping their space, following the mandated “x”s during check in, checking in no earlier than 15 minutes prior to tee time, calling ahead to prepay, or one player paying for the entire group. We realize this is a sacrifice and a challenge for everyone involved, including our team. We will all get through together and a return to our “normal” golfing lives will hopefully be on the horizon.
