Unexpectedly nice little course in a great neighborhood of restaurants for before or after the round. Grass tees!

I played this course years ago and it was beautiful, and on that memory I was excited to plan a return trip with friends. Kind of made me look bad. I know times are tough but the conditions, other than the greens which were great, was noticeably poor. So rough there was rare occasion the golf cart wasn't rocking and rolling as we went. The staff however couldn't have been friendlier, felt very welcome and valued.

Very inexpensive. Very easy to get to. Close to popular Glendale area. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Literally hidden if you use navigation to get there, it might take you to the wrong side of the course where you can look at it but not get in.
Once you get there you'll probably have almost the whole place to yourself. It is home of First Tee so it is in great condition. The greens are super challenging targets. Most important, it is so cheap, especially if you book online.

Really good value. Front nine is like playing in a preserve. Back nine, plain Jane housing development course.

You can find some pretty good discounts online that make this course well worth it. A little on the pricy side otherwise.
Try and pick the right tees for your game, I didn't. Tees are green, gray, blue, white, orange. Should have been Green/Black, Blue, White, Red, Orange. I played from the blues, should have been gray.
DEFINITELY ride, not a walking course.

Tight course. Mostly all winding through residential developments.
If you hit long, play from the back. However, you better hit it straight because there is usually no rough in the trees. If it is out of play it is gone. Bring extra balls.
Not walking friendly. Get a cart.

Seriously, bring extra balls. An errant shot is a lost ball. You only go looking if you are hoping to find somebody else's given up on shot that ended up in the general vicinity of where yours went.
If you can keep it in play, man oh man what a beautiful day of golf in store. Great use of water. This course is like playing in the middle of a state park, when you are not nestled in the housing developments.
And plenty of tee options to fit your game, and I should say where your game is on that day.
This course is not walking friendly.

Excellent greens. Challenging distances. Wide, well kept fairways. Doesn't feel like desert course, more of a Midwest feel. Definitely would play again if in the area.
Really good twilight prices, but you must then contend with the relentless desert winds falling down the nearby hills.

Surrounded by desert, off by itself in Palmdale, this is a fun nine hole course. Desert wash areas weaving through the course remind you where you are playing in case the abundance of deciduous trees everywhere on the course providing plenty of cooling shade make you forget. The occasional Joshua tree on the course are a nice feature.
Try and catch a round on sale for an unreal value. Lots of friendly veterans around if you prefer company.

Surrounded by desert on all sides, this none whole course is the only option far a wide area. Good thing it is not a bad option. Not a destination course, but a great everyday play club.
Fast play.

Maintained fairways. Consistent, soft greens. The ocean breeze is almost always blowing, adding a welcome degree of difficulty to this short course. And thee planes, you can see thee planes.

Good length and a challenging design. It is in the hot hottest part of the valley, so bring water. Really expensive. The occasional sale prices make it much more worth to make the journey to the far northern frontier of Los Angeles.
