Great layout, poor greens

We played with a couple of people who have played there before. They said this is the worst the greens have ever looked. Since it has been a harsh winter, I wasn't expecting much, but besides the 18th green, the greens were all beat up and sandy.

The course layout was excellent. My dad and I both commented on how much we liked the course design. We both also agreed that in a month or so, after the trees bloom and everything greens up, this course will be very nice.

Wouldn't recommend playing this course for another month or so. I will be going back to this course in the future, no doubt.

Beautiful and challenging layout

My father and I had the last early bird tee time at 7:30 am and for ~$70 bucks a person, the value was great. Regularly this course is $120 during peak hours, which in my opinion, it is still worth it if you're looking to splurge on a nice course on vacation.

We played 3 courses in Lake Geneva over the weekend and we liked this the best. ("The Brute" was also in very good shape, and I would recommend playing it. However, we enjoyed the playability/layout of The Player course better.)

3 par 3's and 3 par 5s on the back nine offers a good chance for scoring.

Bent grass fairways were very nice

Two buddies and I picked up a hot deal on this course for $33 on a Monday. We live in the Downers Grove/Lombard area, and it surprisingly only took us ~35 minutes to get the the course. Check in was simple and we even got to tee off a little early. There were a few other groups on the course, but pace of play was excellent.

The course layout is great even though it is some what short. The fairway bunkers were a bit rocky, but the green side bunkers were in great shape. Bent grass fairways were in perfect condition. Greens played hard and pretty quick. Many areas of tall fescue and water hazard that come in to play off the tee. I consider myself a "bogey golfer" and that's exactly what I shot for the day.

Will definitely be returning to this course in the future. It was well worth the drive.
