Play this course at least once a month, saturday was not the best day weather wise with winds and a constant mist/light rain. But the greens were true and rolling smooth. Fairways were nice and healthy even considering the drought we are in. Tee Boxes as always are rough, but that can be said about most courses in Charlotte, but they charge 3 times as much. Staff is always friendly and pro shop has great prices on hats, shirts and clubs on consignment/for sale.

I usually loved to go to Monroe when Nick was here. Always had a great experience and everything was taken care of. Now under this new management, i always run into an issue every time i'm here. Either the range is closed (it's been dry for a while), or random people start off on #10 and hold up play, or such as saturday, they had no carts at all for the afternoon golfers. Apparently they do a scramble earlier in the day, but pace of place was slow, and all of our tee times were pushed back 20-30 minutes. We barely finished before the sun came down. I understand it's a city owned course and the prices are reasonable, but this was just a nightmare for all golfers involved. People trying to steal our carts and tee times and the group in front of us, their cart even died due to the lack of preparation that day. Wont return for a while, the 5.5 hour round and just the overall lack of management is too much to continue to support this course. Hope they can get their act together soon. The course design deserves better.

I've been playing Charles T Meyers for over 10 years and it is in the best shape ever! The crew takes great care in the course and especially the new greens they have installed. Other local courses have let their new greens go downhill, but not this course. Pro shop is always friendly, lets you know of anything happening that day that may affect your round, and has that great attitude you want in a course.

The course is in great shape right now and rounds are reasonable. Greens are fast and smooth, fairways and tee boxes are nice!

This course is awesome. The staff, the course, nice carts, and a great value. I'll always take the drive out here.

I used to love going to monroe country club. Last time I went no one mentioned the greens are airified, nor did they mention the whole back 9 is closed. No notes in the carts and starter said nothing to any of my 4 some until we get to 9 and realize we cant play 10-18. Then a younger newer employee behind the counter accosted several of us for not having a mask on to check in while he himself didnt have a mask on. No need to be a hypocrite in times like these. The layout is great and the superintendent does a great job, but I think its time to let monroe work out their issues before I go back.

I play Eagle Chase at least once a month if I can, and it never disappoints. Friendly staff, grass range, good practice facility, and the course is always in good shape. For the value, you can’t beat it!

I play emerald lake a few times a month and lately it has gone more downhill everytime I play. Pace of play is abismal and they FINALLY hired a Marshall, but he was useless. The golfers who play this course don’t fix any ball marks, nor do they even care about those behind or in front of them. Normal round is 4.5-6 hours depending on time of day. Water coolers are usually full of ice, but little water, so bring 6 bottles with you. Worth $20, but the pace of play has caused friends of mine and myself, to end the round early. It’s ok until you get to 13, then it backs up like 485 during rush hour with golfers hitting 2-4 balls every shot. So plan for a long day with lots of waiting, and while your waiting, maybe the Marshall will tell you to speed up.

Last time I played Emerald Lake was about 8-9 years ago. So when I drove up today to see a brand new clubhouse and banquet building, I was surprised. Apparently the old clubhouse burned down, such a shame to hear, but they definitely improved the quality and atmosphere of the buildings. The range is pretty nice and open, but so close to the first few holes, don’t hit it left! You may never find your ball in the sea of range balls. The tee boxes need some love, and some leveling to be completely flat. The rough is still fairly high, enough to cover your ball. The grass is in decent shape considering it’s almsot December. The fairways were in good shape with little divots and sandy areas. Cart paths need work, but some pets have been repaved, so you know they are working on it. Greens are in good shape and roll true. That’s if you’re lucky enough to get a line without 15 ball marks that other disrespectful golfers won’t repair. If I wasn’t playing with 3 other random players, I could have spent 5 minutes each green fixing ball marks. Some bunkers have no sand in them and are hard as concrete. And you can tell the course is suffering from neglect from players and the maintenance crew. Overall, it’s a nice course and worth $25 for 18, but I wouldn’t pay much more to play here.

Rocky River is one of the best courses in the Charlotte Area. The greens are the best i have played in the last 3 months and the tee boxes weren't all chopped up. I paid $13 to play this course, and that is insane considering other courses are charging $35-80 and the conditions are much worse. Staff is friendly and accomodating. Carts have GPS and can be quite annoying if they "feel" that you are off the course or in a restricted area. Range is decent, but the balls are atrocious and need to be replaced ASAP. If the conditions of the course and the value weren't so good, the range would lose this course stars and appeal for sure.

Charlotte National has some of the most reasonable prices in the city when it comes to green fees. Hard to find a course that is less than $40 for a weekend round, let alone one with awesome greens. The greens were some of the nicest I have played in the Charlotte area and I’ve played about a dozen of local courses over the years. Fairway store were in good shape and the tee boxes weren’t all jacked up or filled with a dumptruck full of sand. Bunkers needed some love and were hard and water logged, but we did just get some decent rain a couple days before. Staff was alright, nothing to write home about, but no complaints either. Clubhouse was small but had everything one would need. Carts are gas and need a little love, but work well. Overall, great value for the money, and pace of play was quick. We finished under 4 hours as a 2 some. Course could use some more imagination and more creativity with he layout, but overall it was a fun course and had a decent variety of holes.
