East Potomac Golf Links - White Course
Played On 10/21/2023Pleasantly surprised
Played the White course 9 holes. Executive course with challenging par 3’s and short 4’s. Greens were slicker then what I’m use to in Florida which made it fun (especially on a windy day). Fairways were way better than expected…. Tee boxes weren’t bad either. Now for the important stuff. The cheeseburger took me back to the city course I grew up playing and the hotdog was the 3rd best I’ve ever had on a golf course. Merch selection inside the pro shop was great. I’ll be back to play the other courses on property next time we’re in town.
Huntington Hills Golf & Country Club
Played On 03/21/2021Good day overall
So I’ve played here twice now in the past 2 weeks. First time, played the white tees just because I was grouped up with a 3some. This time, moved back to the blue tees (6300) and there’s still just some holes where 6 iron off the tee is to much. Next time I play I’ll back it up to the gold.... and hope for low to normal wind. 6600 here won’t be bad... the challenge will be in the par 3’s from there. Greens have a few bad spots... but for the most part they rolled great and pretty quick. Fairways, tee boxes and bunkers are all good for a spot under $40.
Hotdog was good... but what’s with the sweet relish? Please switch to dill HH’s. Diet Coke in styrofoam cup stayed code all round.
2 birdies... should have had 5. I embedded ball. Best part of the say was driving home to the south side and realizing Harvest Meat Market was up that way. Scored some goote looking NY strips, Italian Sausages, Bacon and Brats.
I’ll be back.
St. Lucie Trail Golf Club
Played On 03/19/2021Picked a good halfway meeting point
Coming from Lakeland to meet some friends spending time in the Miami area... and this was a good spot. Nice to have a small bucket of range balls included. Loved getting a yardage book from the starter... that was a very nice touch amd helpful as a first timer here. Busy joint so had to wait until the last minute for carts to come in. The putting surfaces were just about perfect. Recently sanded maybe... but very lightly... didn’t effect the roll at all. Down hill down grain was slick. Fairways were good. If I was ever in the area again, or meeting someone halfway... very cigar friendly. I’d play here again for sure. Would love to get over there when the wind wasn’t howling.
The Chick-Fil-a across the street is legit for the ride home.

Played On 02/08/2021Starting to slip?
Range, tee boxes, bunkers (and areas that don’t really come into play) are looking a little rough out there. Sure hope they don’t continue down this path. Place was pretty empty, but the guys inside went ahead and tried to put another 2some with the 2 of us. Thankfully the starters are all cool out there and let us go off as 2. I know the restaurant is closed on mondays, but still expected to see a beverage cart (since you aren’t really allowed to come in after 9 and reload). Really hope this places doesn’t slip... which we’ve all seen so many places succumb to over the years. Greens were ok... but slower than normal here. Fairways look great.
Thank you for the review, Michael. If you'd like to discuss your concerns further, please reach out to us at info@eaglebrooke.com

Played On 01/10/2021The Piper
Greens are firm and fast, but let’s start with that cheeseburger before the round... incredible. Enjoyed it inside (code out today.... high 40’s) in what looks like an upscale sports bar. The whole clubhouse is top notch.... inside fireplace like you’d see back up home. Caught some NCAA hoops on the big screens and even saw a few dunks before hitting the range (mats and a giant net... which I don’t mind at all... and the price is right). Now for the golf. Front 9 is great because you can just rip driver. Back 9 is about hitting shots... which has its appeal as well.
Some of the holes are close together, so expect to hear some old timer mutter “1 in, 2 out, hitting 3” when he trap hooks one into somebody’s Florida room.
Go play it if you’re in the area, and take the time to drive by historic Virgil Ramage Stadium while you’re in the neighborhood.
Thank you for your review, Michael9804634. We will pass along your positive experience to our team at Links of Sandpiper. We look forward to seeing you again soon.

Played On 11/26/2021Shame on The City of Lakeland
Mow the greens and hire some starters that aren’t prima donnas….. please.
Haven’t played here in about a year and nothing has changed except the greens are worse. Such a shame to let this continue. At this point, I guess I’m in favor of the growing majority to just sell the property off and build homes out there. The city seems to have every other park (especially Tiger Town) looking great… why is this place such an ongoing train wreck?
Hi, thank you for reviewing the course. Let us first start by apologizing for the poor experience you had during your visit. Your feedback about the course is important to us. We are working to get everything up to par. The current condition is by no means the standard we strive to achieve. We are going to escalate your feedback to our team so we can make improvements before your next game, and we will continue to work towards an excellent experience by using your comment for guidance. Thank you for playing Azalea/Camelia Golf Course at Cleveland Heights Golf Club. We hope to see you again soon.

Played On 12/13/2020Very slick greens
I’ll tell you what. As fast as I’ve ever seen the greens here.... and I’ve played this place a bunch. Rained almost all day prior so that helped them hode good shots well, but off the flat stick they were just plain lightning. I guess the code weather we had the week before got these things rolling. Fairways draint better than back in the summer. Cart girl had ice code Coke zeros just like back up home. Should have had 4 birdies today, ended up with 1. Billy the starter is the best.
Thank you so much for your review, Michael! We are so glad to hear you enjoy our course and wonderful staff. We look forward to having you back in the future.

Such a fun layout... but you better know where and when to hit driver. Bunkers, tee boxes and fairways were good. Greens need some work, but didn’t effect putts that I had. Really hit some juicy wedges in close and only 3 putted “if I needed to.” I owned the par 3’s today. The post round cigar and Hamburger tasted oh so good after a 6 net 5 on 18 after bailing out on a hybrid and dumping it into the pond in front of 18. Cart girls are cool here. I’ll be back next time I’m in Pasco County.

The greens need work. Glad to see the carts finally being replaced. Fairways and tee boxes looked great. Pro shop was very picked over and needs restocked. Lunch and service was great as always.
Still worth the 1:30 drive to me.

Played On 08/02/2020Get rangers
Literally reviewing this on the 14th tee box instead of already being done and driving home. 4 groups stacked on 10.... and that was after the foursome in front of us quit on 7 (they had enough).
Great layout.
Hi Michael9804634. We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. Thank you for the 4 stars! We aim for a 5-star experience, so we always welcome feedback for improvement. Thank you for playing Lakewood National Golf Club - Commander Course.

I can see why the (semi) pro and amateur circuit plays out here. Big greens and rough that will break your fingers. Started the day with the 1/2 sandwich from the tiki hut... tasty. Big range and good balls. My buddy tried to put 3 in his own bag but the ranger stopped him. Greens need time as they are tough to hold even well struck wedges. Greens rolled smooth. Thankfully there were no ranges to warn us of lightning and help with slow play. Awesome cart paths.... well worth the money. Good to see the beverage cart person on the first hole to get all of our drink and hunger needs met early.
A must play if your on Hwy 70 east of I-75.

I’ve been playing on and off at this golf course for more than 35 years.... and they have reached an all time low. Of course the pro shop staff is going to be grumpy and rude (not Keith), that’s a staple at the heights. A course is a wreck. C course is weeds. B course was closed. The greens are complete garbage. The crew mowing has no concern with wet areas... they just blow thru them and leave muddy ruts. It’s time for the City to step up and get the golf course playable. Check out the video from A8 green I’ve attached.

Michael, thanks for the feedback as we always want to get better. We have been doing aerifications on tees, greens and verti-cutting fairways over the past few weeks. It is necessary maintenance practices that golfers hate, but essential. The picture you posted is of 8A is where we have had high counts of nematodes that we are addressing. Please give me a call at 863-834-2379 to talk about your negative golf experience at CHGC so we can correct it. Brock Witmyer (GM)
Mission Inn Resort & Club - El Campeon Course
Played On 12/21/2019Great layout
Well worth the hour plus drive a couple times a year. Tee boxes and fairways are very good. Traps need some work, greens had recently been sanded but it wasn’t bad. The greens are very firm and rolling well. Only real complaint was the “cart girls” (3 of them) that were basically just goofing off and couldn’t figure out how to get a couple of sandwiches on the cart and delivered. I don’t hold that against the course at all.

Tee boxes are trash. Fairways are hit or miss. Greens are good.
$60 for this time of the year for this place is $20 to much... not that I’m ever going back.
Not one to have course staff bother me, but the lady that checked us in commented on the price we were charged being lower than it should have. To many “rangers” roaming the course... doing nothing. Cart guys did a nothing job cleaning the clubs then “lost” my towel. The fake search for it is what really ticked me off. Restaurant got me and my buddy’s order wrong. The grouper sandwich sucked. I could go on, but why at this point?
First time I’m reviewed on GolfNow and I wouldn’t t have if it didn’t pop up on my phone when searching for a place to play Monday.
So glad you had a great day! Come back real soon
