West at Eagle Valley Golf Course
Played On 10/07/2022Good Test at a Good Price
Challenging track that tests every club in the bag. Reasonably priced, and pretty well maintained for a Muni. However greens have been infested with some type of coarse grainy plant that affects putting line

Dayton has always been one of my favorite local courses. While fairly expensive for regular play (like every other course in this area), it’s a fun and challenging track, And new ownership is obviously working hard to overcome the frugality of the prior owner.

Enjoyable, non-stress walk in the pines. Some holes easy, others not so much. Course was in nice condition. Greens were not fast, but contoured enough to challenge. Golf Now red flag rate was attractive, but I'm not so sure the course justifies the standard rate.

Enjoyable course in good condition. Fairways are well irrigated and fair, and rough is not too penal. Also decent advantages for ladies and seniors tees. Greens are challenging, smooth and true, and relatively fast. (I found the practice green conditions are consistent with the course greens.)
Lots of course elevation changes, but fairly well designed for it. However the course has several greens unsighted from the tee, which are real head-scratchers for first timers. And unfortunately the score card does not include a course layout.
So, bring your GPS, right? Fair Warning!! The Back 9 was apparently previously the Front 9, and vice versa, but your GPS might not know. I was half way through the round before I figured out why my Garmin yardages were so screwed up.
Definitely enjoyed the course, and look forward to going back.

Tough loop! Greens were green but bumpy. Weeds growing in some bunkers suggests maintenance staff reductions. But still one of the better plays in Reno-Tahoe, and well worth the drive.
The Club at ArrowCreek - Legend Course
Played On 05/15/2014A Good Test
Greens and fairways still in spring condition. Bumpy (recently punched) greens. Challenging but fair, with arroyo forced carries that get your attention. Several unsighted landing areas suggest local knowledge would make a good partner. Practice your uphill/downhill lies for this one. Facility was clean and well maintained. Staff was friendly. If you bring an easy course handicap, keep the wager small and the ego on hold.
DarkHorse Golf Club
Played On 05/08/2014First time, try to play with someone who knows the course.
Well designed for a course in a foothill area with lots of contour. Only #2 seemed poorly designed, but don't let it spoil your round. It's all fun after that, but still a good test. If on your first play you can hook up with someone with course knowledge, like we did, you'll save some strokes (and balls). Course is well maintained, beautiful, and a good challenge. We'll definitely be back.
Lakes Course at Genoa Lakes Golf Club

Beautiful riverine setting, with large trees, wetlands and wildlife. Course is challenging without beating you up, Reasonable length advantage is provided for women. Greens were in good condition, although a little slow, probably due to the end of season.
