Swaffham Golf Club
Played On 05/14/2023North Shore Hotel & Golf Club
Played On 03/31/2022Massively improved course
Been visiting North Shore for years.
Over roughly the last three years ( since the arrival of the present excellent head greenkeeper) the quality of the course has continuously improved.
Rough ground has been extensively cleared, the course is increasingly well manicured and maintained and the experience of playing it has been significantly upgraded.
Well done!
Bawburgh Golf Club - 18-Hole Course
Played On 10/10/2021Good course - slow play
The condition of the course was good.
The greens had been well mown and offered reasonably quick surfaces.
The general maintenance of the course was good.
The setting was very attractive indeed, and the layout varied and interesting - and quite challenging.
The only complaint was the speed of play - which was truly awful. We had to wait on every shot. On one occasion, there were four separate matches playing the same hole. This detracted significantly from the pleasure of playing a very agreeable, tree lined course.
We played on a Sunday afternoon and it is possible that there might have been a competition going on - but nevertheless it was tediously slow going.
We will return to give it a try midweek in the hope of finding it quieter, as the course itself merits a return visit.
Sheringham Golf Club
Played On 07/25/2021Excellent links course
This course has improved in quality significantly since I last played it a few years ago.
It is well manicured and boasts superb views along the coast.
The pro was welcoming and helpful.
My wife and I greatly enjoyed playing the course - and wish we could play it more frequently but, sadly, the very high green fees make that a practical impossibility.
Might I suggest that reducing the green fees by at least £30 a round would bring in far more green fee income in total , and would be fairer and more reasonable? For the cost of just one round on this charming course my wife and I can play between three and four rounds each elsewhere in the county and still enjoy decent golf. The current green fees are, in truth, depriving the club of significant income and depriving decent golfers of the chance to play and enjoy a good course…..
Please reconsider this policy.
PS Rival club, Cromer, should do the same!
