Willowick Golf Course
Played On 02/15/2020Oldie but goodie....
Used to playing here for years. Course has new management and supposedly will have a new fleet of carts next week. Fairways are extremely BUMPY! So, if you have a really bad back, this old course is not for you!
For the money, and if you don't mind some noise in the community around the course, than it's a good place to play. Greens are very decent, and although they look flat, they can fool you! Good chipping and putting will make your numbers here.

Haven't played here since the fire rampaged through about 1/2 the area. Lots of beautiful trees are now just burned matches. STILL, a lot of beautiful areas remain. I think they should plant small trees to take the place of those that are gone.
The course is in the rebuild stage, due to the fire as well as the course is bumpy, but I've had back surgery and there are very few smooth areas. PEOPLE... use the sand to fill in your divots, please! I would want to go again, however, as the price and size of the course gives you your monies worth. Nice people work there. Lots of leaves when it is windy... be prepared to lose some balls.

was told Willowick was sold. Clubhouse merch was almost non existent. Place was not too staffed. If the new owner is going to do something about it, the emlloyees don't know about it.

Well, summer is here and the grounds are getting brown in more spots. The putting greens are not real smooth. BUT, you can't beat it for the price... the folks who work there are very nice. Today it was really hot and they close the "small eating area" and couldn't order water, as there was a Wedding in the "BIG" room, attached to the small lunch size separate area. So, no water. Otherwise, fun.

Played On 04/18/2019Not for the handicapped!
After surviving Prostate Cancer, I had to have 4 discs fused. However, as a determined person, I exercised and went for physical therapy enough to play golf once or twice a week.
Los Lagos is a long and fun course to play... unless you CANNOT EVER FIND A HANDICAPPED PARKING SPACE.
I had to carry my bag from the very back of this HUGE parking lot that has just a few handicapped spaces. Granted I should have dropped off my bag and drove around to find a closer space, but I really didn't want to leave my above average clubs lying there, unattended. So I carried them back to the clubhouse. I was totally exhausted and the guys at the desk seemed amused. I guess I should have left them and walked back. Needless to say, I was lucky to finish 9 holes. There needs to be more handicapped parking spaces. Otherwise, I would be there more often.
Hello, we are extremely sorry to hear about your recent experience with us. We work very hard to accommodate everyone that plays at our course and for this to happens lets us know that we need to work even harder. We have multiple handicap parking but due to the amount of play this weekend all the spots were full. Next time please give us a call and we can come out and assist you. Again we look forward to having you back and are sorry for your last experience.

Played On 04/07/2019Maybe my back is getting older...
....but, I felt the course was lumpy and bumpy, with roads under repair, and hard on an old guy's back. Long fairways, decent greens still make it worthwhile for average to better players.

Bumpy ride for bad backs....
Greens are Good, not great
Sand traps are like cement and I don't ever recall any sand being added.
BUT, you Can't beat what you get for the price...

They must start to water and make SOME effort to make the greens better or I'm done.
Willowick Golf Course
Played On 03/29/2018Good golf with little amenities
Can't beat this old - old course for the bucks. Mike McNary, the golf pro is excellent at the right price.
The fairways are bumpy for a bad back.
If you don't mind the neighborhood, it is great for those on a budget, new at the game, are elderly, or for those who need a course to ready themselves for something challenging. It's primarily flat, but has some challenging bunkers. It has 3 long par 5's. I go there regularly.
Willowick Golf Course
Played On 02/11/2018CANNOT beat it for the money.
Greens are Good. Ground in many places are bumpy, so you have to watch were you aim your cart. Still, if you want a flat course with a few challenging bunkers in front of a few greens, it's a fun course.

Fairways are bumpy and hurt my back, sometimes. Watch you stuff... If it gets lost, kiss it goodbye.
Golf Teacher - McNary is excellent... a good man and his prices are modest. You get a lot for what you pay for.
Birch Hills Golf Course
Played On 08/09/2017For beginners only
Played this course for years and it was very enjoyable for a small course. In the last few years they closed the course and built homes and condos.
The course now is in chunks. Lots of 100 yd+/- holes with a 3 or 4 left alone (par 4s). The fairways are DRY and SHORT. I guess you could putt all the way to the green. Will NEVER go there again.
Just a real estate development with a putt putt course for local owners. Picture is deceiving when you see the rest of the place.
Birch Hills Golf Course
Played On 08/09/2017For beginners only
Played the course before housing development chopped up the place. Lots of 100 yd +/- par 3's. Good if you are just learning to play. Otherwise, it's dry, fairways are mowed too low. Construction causes course to be dismembered into chunks of golf area... reduced from the original.
Los Lagos at Costa Mesa Golf & Country Club
Played On 01/16/2016Great course for the money. Very popular place and parking, although plentiful, gets almost full.
Pleasant course, moderate difficulty, good people. Nice place to go to on a semi-regular basis. Train ride in the distance is annoying, but you get used to it.
We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. Thank you for the 4 stars! We aim for a 5-star experience, so we always welcome feedback for improvement. Thank you for playing Los Lagos at Costa Mesa Golf & Country Club.

Excellent course - long fairways - challenging - great condition - you move along at a good pace
Coyote Hills Golf Course
Played On 9/5/2013Not a place to go when it's 109 degrees
Could only play six holes of this fine course. Nobody expected the temp to be a REAL 109 degrees. Down below the course it was only 102, and by the time I reached the freeway, it was 100. Wasted day and money. Not the courses fault.
Meadowlark Golf Course
Played On 7/17/2013Get off to an easy start... but,
After an easy start it get more challenging and interesting. Must use some course management and becomes easier after a few plays.
Thank you so much for your review and kind words. We value your feedback, and hope to see you back soon.
