Shepherd's Crook Golf Course

Links course with great layout. Greens are good speed, and true. Staff is always friendly. I like the views from hole to hole. You can score good if you can strike the ball consistently, not a lot of tough shots. From tips can get hard, but for average golfers, it won’t wear you down.
Blackstone Golf Club

I rate Blackstone as a premier course.
Next exit after Huntley off I-90 greens are true fairways are cut right. Traps have nice sand. Has room for average golfers and sets up to be a challenge from the back tees. Same class with highlands of Elgin. Stonewall, and Bowes. Highly recommend it.

This course is for the old and young.
It’s a short track, but is tight at times. It’s sad that they took out a lot of sand traps. People are freindly. Outiside seating is very nice for a drink after round.
All in all, could be kept up a little better. Maybe speed up the greens to make it tougher.

It rained for 3 days and the course had 90 degree rule on 6/23, I’m sure most of the courses in Chicagoland were cart path only. No drenched spots. Greens were good for the amount of rain fall
Always a good challenge to play.

Wind adds the challenge. Only negative is the drive. But it’s worth it

Good walking course. For the young and the old. Beginners and long time player. Just a little on the short on the yardage
