Twin Creeks Golf Course
Played On 09/05/2018Metroplex Masterpiece
No other course in the area is in better condition. The entire course was bright green without a brown blemish. First cut from the fairways was a bit tall but being mowed the day I played. Greens were flawless, firm and fast. Course layout offers tons of variety which promotes repeatable play. Putting greens and range conveniently located. Pace of play was good. Staff very friendly and refreshment cart appeared frequently. One unique feature that I didn’t care for: I don’t recall many elevated tee boxes but seems like there were plenty of elevated greens so additional length needed to be considered for the approach shot. Altogether, this is a superior course and I suggest you play it now! Thanks to golfnow.com for creating great value with this course.
Lake Park Golf Course - Championship Course
Played On 08/01/2018Wait two weeks
I’m somewhat surprised the fairways were so brown and dried out since this course is next to a lake. The greens had recently been punched yet the covering sand was sparse so no chance of counting on a putt over 4 feet. They were hairy and very slow. We teed up early afternoon noon, let two pairs go in front of our 3some and there were two singles waiting behind us. We let 5 singles play through during the round. You’d think they would pair some of these folks together. Flags all the same color so posting the pin position or announcing it at check would have been helpful. Staff friendly but not enough players to warrant a refreshment cart on the course. I’ve played here before and will play here again but this round was not the best experience. Surely in a couple of weeks the greens will be better.
Bridges - The Masters at Firewheel Golf of Garland
Played On 07/17/2018Almost perfect!
Played Masters/Traditions in 3 hrs 10 min. beginning at 12:30. Nice and clean. Flat tee boxes with freshly moved sculpted fairways build confidence in shot placement. Scattered fairway yardage markers present ...150 yard poles would be helpful especially on par 5 holes. Wonderfully soft greens, medium speed but full of divots; needed to make many repairs before putting. C’mon guys! There’s cold water at the tee boxes although I never saw a refreshment cart. Cart paths smooth and carts are quietly electric. My review may read as criticism but no doubt this is a great course with plenty of variety. These tweaks would make it better.
Bridges - The Masters at Firewheel Golf of Garland
Played On 07/12/2018Stunning!
First time here. Masters/Champions courses looked tournament ready, manicured from tee to green. Tee boxes pleasantly flat, fairways freshly cut so got good roll. Greens were soft yet seemed slow but putting pace was consistent. The layout was full of enjoyable variety littered with massive mature trees hiding subtle doglegs to elevated greens. I enjoyed the discipline of placement off of the drive. Played alone in just over 3 hours. Staff friendly and the electric carts appeared new. Cart paths smooth and comfortable from beginning to end. The only disappointment ... I thought the greens had recent hail damage only to find out that no one knows how to repair ball marks. This really is a beautiful golf course in great shape except for the pock-marked greens. The greenskeepers surely could address this. I’ll look for this course again on golfnow. Highly recommended.
Lakes at Firewheel Golf Park
Played On 07/05/2018Magnificently manicured
Attention to the details are aparant at this course. The entire course was manicured and tournament ready. Fairways and greens were soft. It’s a joy to play a course that’s in such great shape. The downside...the clubhouse is not convenient to the turn so they need more “ snack cart” visability but I highly recommend this course.

The only place green was the putting surface. Sadly, a miracle of maintenance and water are needed to deem it enjoyable. Golf course and club house entirely in disrepair. No more than 7 groups on the entire course. The good news...pace of play!
Frisco Lakes Golf Club

This course is awesome because it has a vast variety of different views. It passes through neighborhoods; over creeks and has views of the lake. The fairways were soft and had plenty of landing areas that provided bonus rolls. The greens were bumpy probably due to recent punching and sanding. Staff was friendly. Pace was good and layout afforded driver on most holes. This is a beautiful course but without GOLFNOW it’s expensive.
Bear Creek Golf Club - West Course

If you can keep it in the fairways you will enjoy this course because it is very narrow. Not recommended for a beginner. Several holes had blind shots and since this was my first time to play here I often needed to scout the next shot. Lots of unrepaired divots on tilted fairways and a few greens showed recent repairs but overall the course was lush and soft. This is a beautiful golf course that I for sure will play again.
The Courses at Watters Creek - Traditions Course

Lots to love about this course. Shape is good. Driver used off of most tee boxes. Fairways were soft yet plenty of roll. Greenskeepers mowed and rolled then watered ahead of me so the putting surfaces were flawless. Pace of play was good. Staff let me play ahead of my tee time to beat the heat. There’s not many courses better than this one.
Old at Firewheel Golf Park
Played On 06/08/2018THE OLD COURSE not very good
This course needs watering. It was dry even in the fairways. Plenty of tee boxes had large patches of dirt. More than a few of the greens had barren or diseased areas patched up with sand which made them inconsistent. At this time of the year this course should be in better shape.

This course is constantly watered in all the right places so the fairways are lush and the greens (albeit mostly small) hold shots as if you were the first round of the day. Greens are consistently quick. This course is always in better shape than any other in the D/FW area. Plenty of challenging variety yet short enough to score hitting greens in regulation if you can shape the ball. The downside; the clubhouse is not convenient to the turn, you need a cart to get to the driving range and one of the holes borders the range so there were yellow balls everywhere. I love this golf course!
