Branson Hills Golf Club
Played On 08/14/2014Beautiful and Extremely Challenging.
Beautiful golf course that will test you mentally and physically. A number of really strong holes (loved most of the par 4's) with some questionable ones interspersed throughout - number 18 is terrible.
Zoysia fairways were in great shape and the greens were better than average on speed. Numerous forced carries from the tee or into green so if you have short hitters, they will struggle and only enjoy the scenery.
Starter was very friendly but the pro shop person was uncommunicative and almost rude in his reluctance to talk. Guess 0800 is too early for him.
Resort prices at $100 each. Pace of play was slow due to difficulty for groups ahead of us.
Under Repair
The course has the opportunity to be a four or even five star course but it is in the midst of a major renovation. We were told that the course was open so we played it expecting the renovations to be complete. Nope. Full price @ $100 each for a course under repair. Not a word from the staff prior to playing so it was disappointing to see construction personnel on every hole and playing from temporary tees.
Eighteen Hole at Lake Waco Country Club

Nice little course hidden away on the west side of Waco. Reasonable priced, great pace of play, moderately challenging. Waco isn't loaded with great golf so this little course stands out as a good time.
