Viera East Golf Club
Played On 8/11/2014The course provides a number of different tee boxes to provide you with the experience of difficult to moderate depending on your choice of tees
The course is in good condition with the greens coming back from recent trouble. The fairways are in good condition and the ruff is not overly difficult.
There are many holes that require a challenging shot over water .
If the wind is blowing an "a" game will be needed.
The staff was helpful with pin placement knowledge.
The pro shop has what you need for an enjoying round.
I enjoyed my experience and would reccommend the course.
Rockledge Country Club
Played On 10/25/2013better club house then golf course
The staff is super friendly. And the club house and locker room are superb.
The course design and setting needs some updating.
Very friendly layout from the forward and middle tees. Not to much trouble to get into.
I found the course to be in over all good shape with pretty fast greens and a nice cushion in the fairways.
Crane Creek Reserve Golf Course at Melbourne
Played On 08/01/2013Sorry to see it going to pot.
What a shame. Another community course that is falling to low budgets or a nobody cares attitude.
I went back to play this course after a 5-6 year layoff. After the second hole I was so aggravated that both and most of the greens played were almost un- putt-able that I stopped putting.
The course needs help.
Lakes/Dolphin Golf Course at Cocoa Beach Country Club
Played On 07/19/2013Best shape on the Space Coast!
Wow-Welcome back.
The course is in pristine condition.
If you have not played here in a long time or this will be your first you will be pleasantly surprised by the lush fairways and true rolling greens.
There are 3 separate nines here allowing you for amazing views of the Indian River.
The courses can be very difficult from the back tees with the narrow fairways and the amount of water that comes into play. The up tees still provide a good challenge but bring the par 3's in close enough which gives you a good chance of going low for the day.
There is a good practice area and a nice club house awaits you after your round..
Watch for gators and other wildlife.
Duran Golf Club - Championship Course
Played On 07/15/2013Country club atmosphere at a public couse rate.
Plenty of room for practice at the driving range for both your driver and irons.
The tee boxes tend to point you in the wrong direction so making sure you line up correctly is a must on this course. Plenty of water and strategically placed bunkers will make you pay on errant shots. The fairways are well maintained and the length of the grass gives you a little cushion to hit from. The greens are also well maintained. Chipping from close to the green may be a problem if you are on the wrong side of the slope.
After your round a nice club house is available to enjoy a few drinks and talk about your day on the course.
The pro shop has minimal equipment and clothes to choose from.
I enjoyed the course and look forward to going back.
The Majors Golf Club at Bayside Lakes
Played On 07/06/2013Choose which tees you play from wisely-Macho is not a good idea
You can warm up on two nicely manicured greens and the hitting area gave you plenty of room to practice all of your clubs before you begin play.
This course provides a thinking player with rewards. You can not bomb it off of every tee. Water and sand traps are very strategically placed. And you need to figure out how far it is to trouble.
The par 3's are not to difficult and give some sort of a reprieve.
The greens were at a nice speed and were pretty flat.
The club house and bar area were very nice with nostalgic photos of" the greats" decorating the walls.
The pro shop was minimal in regards to new equipment
The Habitat Golf Course
Played On 05/28/2013Accuracy is the key to this course. Greens and fairways in good condition.
Mostly narrow driving areas require an accurate day off of the tees. On the green you will find a pretty quick passe and a nice roll even though they may look slow.
Some holes require a lay up with the driver staying in the bag. Hole 18 is a nice par 5 finish with 2 shots over water.
Plenty of wildlife so be careful, gators will greet you at a few holes.
The 19th is a limited venue but it is cool inside and you may find a few nice folks to share your tales of the day with.
Dunes at Sandridge Golf Club
Played On 01/21/2013A well maintained tight course fun for all skill levels.
The Sandridge Golf Course provides two 18 hole courses. The Dunes and the Lakes.
I played the Dunes yesterday. I was pleasantly surprised at the pace of play (4 hours and 15 minutes) even though the course was quite crowded.
The Dunes is a tight course that you will need to be not only straight but precise in your shots off of the tee. I suggest taking the course book provided by the pro shop.
There are dog legs and hazards that cut across the fairways, you will need to judge your distance off of the tee maybe using irons to stay safe. The greens are well maintained with a fast too medium speed .
A well stocked pro shop and also a luncheonette will provide needed equipment and food for the day.
Enjoy!
Sebastian Municipal Golf Course
Played On 1/15/2013fairly open course in very good shape.
I truly enjoyed this course. It provides enough of a challenge with it's many water holes that require a strategic shot off of the tee. Either play it safe and bail out from the water side, or go for it too leave a short iron to the greens.
The par 3 's can be tricky depending on the placement of the hole/cup.
An over all good course in very good condition.
Enjoy!
Harmony Golf Preserve
Played On 11/19/2012Plenty of dog legs with bail out possibilities, or the chance to be Macho Man by challenging the water or sand traps.
It was my first time too this wonderful course and it will not be my last.
The friendly staff was helpful and open in explaining some of the "need to know", strategy of playing this Johnny Miller designed course.
Johnny apparently likes water, slick greens and a strategic drive off of the tees. Which by the way there are enough choices of tee boxes to make this a course that every golfer can enjoy.
I would suggest warming up on the practice greens and driving range before going out and playing.
The golf carts are equipped with G.P.S. which makes play move quickly.
If you like nature, you may see eagles flying high above and alligators lurking in the water.
I am sure you will enjoy your day.
I did!
Mallards Landing Golf Course at Melbourne
Played On 9/1/2012A good course to practice at. Sometimes you can go out alone and practice those shots you need to practice! at around $25.00
A good Municipal course. The greens are in ok shape as is the rest of the course. It can play long in the wind and will provide a challenge because of the length that is needed, more so then the design of the course itself. I play this course often midweek because of the ability to practice with out the next group pushing you.
Baytree National Golf Links
Played On 8/5/2012A challenging course from the middle tees
This course is not a bombers paradise. Position, position is how to score here. Many holes are lined with water on one side or the other. On some holes a long iron or 5 wood is better off of the tee. The over all condition was good. I played there a year ago and it was in better shape then.
