St Anne’s sweat fest.

1st timer at the links & chose the hottest day of the year to play (95) w/ my son. Many elevated greens and lots of water hazards. Tees were a bit beat up but functional , some fairway burnout in spots but we just got thru July & August. Greens were fine , rolled well , and lots of hand watering was going on during our round but not affecting play. I’ll be back when it gets cooler out .

5 days after greens aerification

I knew the greens were punched days prior but based upon knowledge of top dressing , subsequent maint. and recovery time I figured all was good... and it was ! inexpensive round on a beautiful fall (leafless) day. Bunkers have also seen some love recently which has not gone unnoticed. Patrick is obviously taking steps to keep the course at a standard on par w/ other local courses. The standards are and the rates are better . play it !

nice layout....slow pace

played white oaks last month and had a blast....favorable conditions , interesting layout , decent conditions. played this past sunday (8/13) and all was the same except the pace of play since it took approx. 5+ hrs for 18 holes. tough to get a flow goin' when you wait in every tee box and fairway to hit. a ranger is needed to monitor and enforce pace of slow parties. also saw a 5some at one point . I may return but not anytime soon.

We are sorry to learn you did not have as great of an experience at the course this time around. We understand the pace of play is key to your game. We will work on this in the future, but we hope you understand how crowded it may feel at any other golf course on a Sunday. We hope you give us another shot.

nice layout and favorable conditions = a fine round !

Played Delcastle a year or 2 ago and had not returned with all the other area options......I enjoyed my Saturday (8/5) round so much I returned on 8/6 to experience more. Arrived both days as a single and was paired with good partners.....the starter was extremely accommodating and actually sent us out 20m early on 8/6. Check in was a breeze and Pro shop staff receptive. Now the course ..... previous memories of fall leaves ~ lots of geese and their droppings~and overall unfavorable conditions was a thing of the past. Tee's , fairways , greens were all good with only a few areas with issues (like any other course around except Glen Mills and Bulle Rock) The variety from hole to hole was refreshing and the pace of play was monitored and acceptable. These guys want you to enjoy your round . Probably only dissatisfaction was both days I tee'd off around noon and only saw the beverage cart once each day. This course is well worth the rack rate and if you can get a deal on golfnow or teeoff.com it's value added. Didn't hit the bar / grille but it was busy if that matters.....

An enjoyable outing with much variety throughout

1st timer to the wetlands.....could not pass up the hot deal $ especially after reading recent reviews. 3/4 hour ride from Pa. well worth the drive and grouped with some nice folks equipped with local knowledge. weather has been dry and understandable that tees and fairways were a tad spotty but no issues. greens were excellent and ran avg. speed and true. What struck me most was the variety from hole to hole....doglegs left / right straight tee shots , elevation changes , layups , reachable 4's and 5's , interesting 3's , simply put..... course management skills will be utilized to the fullest. course is well marked for navigation and it was recommended to me not to play here immediately after a soaking rain.....wetlands ya know ? anyway , can't review Bogies restaurant / grill as I did not visit the eatery but as far as the golf goes , unless you're a country club snob you will have an enjoyable and moderately challenging experience at the Wetlands.....watch for the dinosaurs on the front !

One fine piece of real estate.

Wanted to play here in 2015 but Dupont made sure that didn't happen.....Fwd to 2016 and after a busy year playing Myrtle and several local country clubs I finally got in the car and drove the 1.3 hours from Avondale , Pa. to Royal Manchester after getting tired of reading rave reviews.... Hot deal from Golfnow made up for the gas $ used. From tee to green conditions were above average , the layout was extremely enjoyable with multiple memorable holes. A links course throughout except for the longer par 3 on the back which featured a green surrounded by trees. Some local knowledge may have improved my experience since this was a 1st time here but all told , a reasonable course to negotiate. If I was to offer any tips.... one would be to select a smaller target off the tee to increase fairways hit and... two would be whatever break you're reading for your putt , cut it in half. Don't miss the "crock burgers" in the restaurant which are ready instantly at the turn. I'll be back real soon for another enjoyable....affordable experience.

Fun course with excellent conditions

1st time playing and was pleasantly surprised. Was told course played very tight but found this not to be the case...as long as you hit relatively straight. Course gets more interesting as round progresses with a very good flow from hole to hole....some nice elevation changes...and a long 3 on the back. Only 2 5's and multiple short 4's for birdie potential. Greens rolled true with moderate speed. Rough was semi-difficult to find ball and hit from...esp. with fall leaves. Only lost one though. Caddyshack equipped with good food and taps...and definitely a sports bar atmosphere with several flat screens....but also restaurant as well as outside seating. An altogether great day and I'll return for sure....esp. if I can secure another golfnow hot deal !

Well worth the 1 hour drive to dover

I like to get around to different courses for variety and golfnow hot deals makes this possible and affordable. Maple dale has a beautiful clubhouse and very nice golf course. no particular wow factor and only minor elevation changes but from tee box to green conditions were excellent. A few tight tee shots and a couple forced carries . greens rolled fast and true . Had some local knowledge on a few shots which helped. Will return again for sure.

fast greens~fair conditions~nice variety

Go with low expectations and you won't be disappointed....20$ to ride 18 friday @ 11:30 was good deal but would not pay more. condition and speed of the greens was the attraction as well as the variety from hole to hole.....tee boxes were spotty as were the fairways. could use more yardage markers since everyone does not carry a rangefinder. If you find yourself there DO NOT play karakung to save a few bucks....play Olde course. After the round Pica's restaurant is a few minutes away on rt. 3.....Pizza and a draught beer or three will complete your day properly.

excellent course ~ good conditions ~ well worth the 1 hour drive from O.C.

On a w/e that we played both lighthouse sound and baywood greens river marsh was equally or more enjoyable. golfnow price was great and although we didn't think the hour drive from oc was a wise choice we would do it again in a flash...all highway and no issues. the whole course played great but 17 & 18 were a stellar ending to the round. Fair amount of water....fast greens.....reasonably open layout. go experience it for yourself.....we'll return as well.

Fast undulating greens , wide fairways , excellent conditions.

Drove 1-1/2 hours to play Ballamor and would do again without hesitation. One of the finest public courses in the tri~state area. Not a typical South Jersey course. Pristine conditions in the middle of November is an amazing feat. The course has a reasonable amount of bunkers and some water to negotiate. No real long carries (played from whites) and a few elevated greens and false fronts. Greens were challenging. Each hole unique and both traditional and links style holes encountered throughout with a very nice flow. Played the sister course Scotland Run the week prior and there is absolutely no comparison. Go see for yourself.

Above average quality course with some difficult holes to manage.

I'm normally in the low 90's hitting from the whites but White Clay sent me over 3 digits. Only played once before and forgot how to manage a few holes....some requiring carry while others layup. Course conditions were favorable but wind was occasionally a factor. Greens rolled fast , true , and were in great shape. All of the par 3's play 170 / 180+ except one. No significant elevation changes or wow factor but overall a very interesting course to manage. Unless you're a LOW handicapper better bring your A game. Arrive early to take advantage of a nice practice area....Get a golfnow deal and you won't feel too bad if you score high.

Great course and conditions........"challenging" greens.

Overall layout of Frog hollow is quite open , comparable to Wyncote. Not an over abundance of water but a generous amount of bunkers. If reading / putting on undulating greens is your bag you'll be in heaven here my friend. I'm used to a half dozen greens per round that throw me a curve , but here it's every one. Knowing the pin position on each hole was of very little value cause even placing your approach per position , there were still difficulties encountered.......not alot of one putts folks. I will be back , now knowing the task at hand , but certainly not expecting a low 80's round.

Very unique course , fun greens , plenty of hazards , challenging.

I usually tee from the whites but since the 3some I paired with went blues I tried to keep it simple....this was ok for the most part but I was perplexed with the carry on a few holes. Greens read and rolled very nice and not overly fast , fairways were in good shape , lots of sand / bunkers / waste areas to navigate. only complaint was that they are having difficulty growing grass in the tee boxes and this was a minor issue which I was assured would be temporary. All day long skydivers dropping from above to a nearby zone added to the experience. Taking target shots at a plane wreckage on the back 9 was ..different. Looking forward to a return visit since I have a better idea of how to manage some holes , and the opportunity to play from the tees which my handicap dictates. Highly recommended !

fast greens-thick rough-always windy-challenging course

Wyncote is one of few links courses close to home in southern chester county. If you have never been it's a must play for several reasons including layout , conditions and overall experience. Can't think of a sub-standard hole on the entire course. I'd highly recommend and with a golfnow deal it's value added. Also great food and drink at the pub there....and not just bar food...we're talking cuisine with a bonafide chef. Great golf...food...beverages...what else do you need ?

average course layout with fair conditions

Chapel Hill has a couple of interesting holes and a few tight ones. Small water hazards were as abundant as bunkers. Fairways and rough could use some weed control / greens were very fast and in great shape. Not much on elevation changes and no particular wow factor but for an inexpensive outing it was worth the $ paid and we moved along nicely throughout the afternoon.

No frills course - good for beginner

In my quest to play different places I booked Gilbertsville which is an hour trek for me. The course has drainage issues on the red and white courses and after a rain it was WET. Didn't really find any wow factor on the overall layout and no real elevation changes to speak of. Early spring so fairways were spotty and greens were recovering from recent aeriation. On a positive note the 27 holes was a novelty with the blue course being the best of the 3 and if you can get a golfnow discount rate on 18 plus do a replay of 9 it is an inexpensive day of ball striking....for us it was 27 holes for 30$. Best bet for the $ and quality would be blue to red and blue for the replay. But wait for dry conditions ! Doubtful I'll return.

quality course with nice layout and conditions

One hour drive which was well worth it. course has some reachable 4's and 5's. One of the 3's felt squeezed in but on the whole the course flowed rather well...some local knowledge helped on a few holes. Greens rolled fast and predictable....generous pin placements. Round went a bit slow due to the 1st nice day in a while and everyone anxious to play. Already booked a return visit . Yuengling drafts = value added.
