Dunedin Golf Club
Played On 02/09/2022Fun to Play
It is that time of year when the grass is not growing, but this course is just as good conditioned as most others we play including St Petersburg Country Club and Seminole Lakes. It is a fun layout and can challenge at any level. I am a senior golfer 4 handicap and played the white tees. It was breezy and cool, with no roll the day after rain so it was a very good challenge. The greens were a little inconsistent from the rain and the back 9 had been top-dressed, but they did an excellent job of this. The bunkers have excellent sand. The tee blocks for the forward tees (which my wife played) were not very well maintained, basically sitting on fairways. The staff were welcoming and that was a pleasant thing for us to experience. We will be back to play. They managed covid well.
The Club at River Wilderness
Played On 03/01/2020Good Challenging Layout
Single digit senior golfer here. Greens in very good condition and roll true. Holes offer variety and challenge and have lots of tee blocks to choose your personal distance challenge. There are a couple of doglegs carved through trees, mixed with palms. Lots of fairway bunkers and water but not a tight golf course. Wind is a factor, in a good way. Alligators and Sand Hill Cranes are abundant. Staff are excellent and make you feel welcome. Practice range is included, and is fine. Putting green is good and represents the course. There is a chipping green near the first tee. Well worth the money.

Great course to play and good conditions. challenge. The only issue is that this is the second time that we have ended up being a twosome behind a FIVEsome.. Having said that, it still was under 4 hours, but ....we were a twosome.
St. Petersburg Country Club
Played On 02/05/2019Good Course in Very Good Condition
Good challenging course for all levels. Make it very playable for beginners with the forward tees also. . Range is included in Golf Now tee bookings. Fairways are cut very short, and the sand in traps is not very good, but the greens are in excellent condition and very demanding with slopes (can get fast). The layout is challenging and nice - back 9 is more challenging. Carts run well, and are included in GolfNow booking. Nice Pro Shop.

When we arrived at the course, we were billed 126.26. I produced the GolfNow receipt indicating that we were to pay 104.86. The pro shop indicated that this was a Golf Now issue and so I paid the 126.26 so we could play. I subsequently tried to contact Golf Now, but to no avail and so I tried an email and got no response as of this writing so unfortunately am posting it here. We booked again this week through Golf Now and our tee time was not on their tee sheet. They said they cancelled Wednesdays for Golf Now. They did fit us in, and we enjoyed a nice round of golf. This is an excellent golf course in excellent condition. The round includes a golf cart, practice facility and very (VERY) fast greens that are very demanding - stay below the hole is a must.
St. Petersburg Country Club
Played On 01/24/2018Great Conditon
The greens were very fast and true. The course was in great condition. We booked for 49.99 on Golf Now, but were charged 59.99 when arrived at course, contacted Golf Now and no response yet. This is an excellent golf course and in great conditon. The par 4’s are very strong, the par 3’s are varied and challenging and require an iron shot - so not unrealistic. the Par 5’s are a good test and challenge even the longer ball hitters due to the challenging greens and strategic position of the traps and water, where applicable. Course knowledge is important here, as it is critical to place the ball in the proper position on the greens, due to speed and contours. I am a single digit senior golfer and enjoy this course from the white tees now, as my distance is not what it used to be, but I use every club in the bag. The back tees will challenge any level of golfer. Regarding the forward tees, this course has placed them in consideration of creating a positive experience for beginners and shorter hitters than any golf course I have played - very thoughtful. Since it is a private golf club, it is not unusual that they haven’t paired us up with anyone else, but the pace of play has been reasonable, despitee this.
St. Petersburg Country Club
Played On 02/23/2017Well Designed Golf Course
Have played here three times with my wife. She plays the forward tees and it is obvious that a good deal of thought was put into settin it up for 'short hitters' and beginners - a rarity, in my experience. This part is excellent and brings us back. There are no weak holes. The par 3's are scenic and (for a change) each is a varied iron shot - not metals or drivers! I particularly like the par 4's on the back nine. The par 5's are set up for potential birdies although the first one is a good challenge and par is good, there is a pond just off the green, so a risk/reward hole. The greens are challenging, grainy and sloped. They usually run about 11 but yesterday were a little slower due to the overnight rain. The fairways are in excellent condition for this time of year. The rough is dormant so not in great shape right now. The sand traps are different than what I am used to, even in Florida. they are well maintained though. Lots of wildlife - alligators in almost every pond, lots of osprey and other birds around. Practice range included in green fee and a very large putting green. there is also a practice green in the practice area if you have time.
Seminole Lake Country Club
Played On 03/08/2016Great Greens
Play this course in February and March for past two years. The greens are excellent. The fairways and roughs aren't great at this time of year, but the greens make up for it , and more. The layout is interesting and there are several sets of tees depending on ability. It can stretch out pretty good on the Blacks. I play Blue and it is a challenge. The par 3's are challenging, the par 5's are risk reward, one of them being pretty straight forward and reachable. The par 4's have variety with two of them being lengthy (a hybrid or 3 metal second shot for me) and the rest a variety of irons. I tend to use every club in the bag. I am a low handicap golfer and hit the ball 230 in the air - no roll at Seminole most of the time and you will often get mud on it. In winter months I clean the ball before the next shot. The Member for the Day deal is great - includes "anything" of the menu - anything. You just pay for your beer.
Sounds like you enjoyed the course! What can we do to make it 5 stars? Thanks so much for playing at Seminole Lake, glad you loved the member for a day deal. Come back and see us!
