Green Tree Golf Course
Played On 09/09/2022Drought and water shortage - UGH
I've played this course only one month earlier and the course was in very good repair, and at the price of only $38 was a very excellent value. HOWEVER, this past week, after a month of ceasing watering the fairways and tee boxes (only watered the greens) this course was largely un-playable. It added 20 strokes to my game and cost me a few lost balls to boot. I would bet it is at least 2 years to get the course back into shape.

Played in the off season when winds were brutal. Came back on. 95° day, and enjoyed much more. Interesting course layout, par 6 number 3!!! For the price I’ll play again.

Green Tree Golf Course
Played On 04/03/2019Such potential unfulfilled
This course could be fabulous with some investment. The layout is great. The third hole is a par 6! That said, the fairways are in bad shape. The greens are now any better. Unfortunately, today the wind was gusting to more that 25 MPH the entire time so the round was a chore. When we reached the 18th green and it was finally over I was glad for the hot deal price of inly $13.

Harbor Pines Golf Club

While I have owned clubs for 20 years and played once or twice a year (until 1 year ago) I am clearly not more than a novice at best and a hacker at worst. 1 year ago, being retired, I began playing once or twice a week and took some additional lessons. So, with that being said, I find this course moderately challenging but forgiving enough for my skill level. The staff here has been wonderful and the course is in excellent condition, remarkably so after the wet year we had in 2018. So many other Jersey shore courses were really torn up with all the heavy continuous rain last year and some still haven't fully recovered. So, enjoy Harbor Pines - but don't tell too many people as I am enjoying the ease of getting a tee time and the relaxed pace of play!
Latona Country Club
Played On 10/16/2018Relaxed Play at a reasonable price
I've played Latona a few times now and each time I have enjoyed the round. I am not a great golfer as I have dusted off my clubs now that I am retired and have time to play. This course is great for beginners like myself. It is reasonably priced, well maintained and fairly forgiving. In the few times I have played this course there were no wait times and tee times are not required although they are available.
