Rude Staff and Boring Flat Course

We teed off 4 minutes early behind a twosome and by the 5th hole we were being told by a marshall to speed up. He showed back up on the 8th hole and yet again told us to speed up even though we were under two hours on the 8th hole. He wanted to argue about pace of play when the group behind us wasn't even teeing off yet. At the turn we grabbed hot dogs and drinks and the group behind us caught us on the 10th hole. We offered to let them play thru and they happily declined. On the 11th hole the same Marshall was waiting for us yet again and said he needs to have a conference with our group. 1 minute later a manager showed up with him to tell us pace of play on the front 9 was under 2 hours. According to him we should be an entire hole ahead and need to keep with the pace of the group in front of us. It didn't matter how many people are in front of us, we need to stay with that group. Even if we have 4 and they have 1 player. He finally admitted that pace of play was over 4 hours and we were 10 minutes behind. We finished our round in 4hr17mins. We never did speed up and were only 7 minutes off pace. We have over 50 years of golfing experience between the 3 of us in our group playing courses all over the world and have never been harassed by staff like we were on Monday. One of us was playing the best back 9s of his life and he had to tee off while the manager was arguing with us about pace of play. He wanted to argue on the green target than moving up to the next tee box or letting us go so we could actually speed up. Extreme lack of professionalism and we will not be back. Space out your tee times not then 10 minutes or group up twosomes.

Great little par 3/4 Course

Best short course in Tucson! Lots of challenging par 3s and short par 4s. Front 9 is very different from the back 9. All in all a great course in the heart of Tucson

Best City Course in Tucson

I've been playing Randolph for over 20 years and I've never seen it look this good. Tee boxes, fairways, greens and bunkers are in phenomenal shape. Wish it wasn't cart path only until December though.

Punched greens but still very playable

I guess we missed the good greens by a week but even punched they were too bumpy or sandy. Just very slow. First time playing and I enjoyed it. 40+ minute drive from midtown Tucson but views of the Catalina's that most haven't seen. Well worth they money if you haven't been before. Very nice facility

Picture is of my eagle on the short par 4 on the front 9. We had 3 in our group and it took 3.5 hours, never caught anyone.

A Must Play!

First time playing The Preserve, mainly because of the 45 minute drive from North Tucson. Very challenging, tight course. I think I used driver twice thru 18 holes. You need a trusty 215-245 yard shot on most if not all the par 4s. Fairways and tee boxes were in excellent shape, greens were a bit bumpy but rolled fairly quick. Lots of slope! Some of the best Par 3 holes in town. 50-75 yard drops! Friendly staff, pace of play could have been better but it was a busy day for them. My twosome tee'd off at 1:22 and we finished 18 in the dark at 5:40.

Negatives: No drink cart girl, beer fridge was dead and restaurant was closed but it was New Years Day. No coolers/club/ball cleaners on cart

Best Tucson City Course

1st time playing Silverbell. Great city course, very walk-able. About 2 weeks away from overseeding so it wasn't in the best of shape but not many dead spots in the fairways. Greens were slow and bumpy but expected this time of year at a city course. Well worth $25 or less for a round. Great mountain views and challenging holes when the winds pick up. A handful of water holes as well. Will definitely play again. Played as a single in just over 3 hours. Started on 10 and after getting back to 1 I had 2 groups that let me play through. Got slowed down at 6. Could have been under 3 hours very easily. Probably a 4 hour round with a group

Target Golf Great Track!

Couldnt believe there was a hot deal for $15 at 930am. Booked it right away. Greens were rolling about 9 and were nice. Fairways were ok but not great. Tee boxes were very good. Great views, very challenging design!

Classic Enke

Hadn't played Enke in about 15 years. Used to play this course with my Dad back when I had my junior card(age 9-13) so I knew this course very well. Heard they were losing it due to funding so wasn't expecting much. Tee boxes needed trimming, dead spots in the fairways and fairly bumpy greens. A few holes the grass was great, freshly grown. Really can't complain since I only paid $13 for a morning tee time with cart. Very challenging from the tips. Couple blind corners which I seemed to have forgotten. All in all I would pay $20 every time to come play this course.

Great Little 9 Hole Course

Played this course probably 5 times now. I wouldn't pay $20+ so the Hot Deals for under $15 are great. Id rather play 18 at El Conquistador for $33. Little shorter than a normal 9 hole course. There are a couple short Par 4s and a nice long Par 5. Great mountain views! No driving range but there is a putting green and chipping area. Water jugs at pretty much every other hole which is nice.

Top Notch Tucson Course

My first time playing at Tucson National. Course was in phenomenal shape even several months after over-seeding. Not 1 single complaint besides a slow group in front of us. Gave us time to hit extra putts. Worth every dollar! Dont forget to stop by Legends Bar & Grill afterwards!

One of the best in Arizona

Until today I had only played the Canyon course which was very nice but doesn't hold a candle to the Mountain Course. Even if you don't play the Black tees, you have to see the views from them on 3, 4 and 18. I would argue Hole 3 is one of the most scenic holes in the entire country. Very short and simple but surrounded by mountains/rocks/mansions with a Canyon in the center to hit over. Hole 4 just behind it is 600 yards from the black tees. After a hike up the man made stairs you will see that you have to carry the road and probably 200+ yards of desert to hit the fairway. Then a strong dogleg left with water on the right. Very tough. Very nice holes from there all the way to 17. Make sure you walk all the way up the stairs to the black tees on 18. Such an incredible view of Tucson. Probably 120 yards above the fairway. All in all the course was simply incredible. My only complaint is the greens but that is because of my skill level. They are so grainy and there is so much slope they are difficult to read. Watch your speed! I think I 3 putted almost every hole. BTW I only paid $49 to play this course since it was Christmas Eve. Normally it is $120. Thank you GolfNow!

49ers is back!

My first time playing 49ers, was really impressed as most people have talked this place down over the years. Under new management who has the course back on track and has big plans for the property. Already under construction and a board in the Clubhouse lays out all of their plans. Course reminds me of Tucson County Club with all the mesquite trees lining the fairways. Lots of green grass, tee boxes and greens were in great shape although people need to be reminded about fixing divots. Some of the greens looked like the moon with 30+ ball craters. Fairways were in pretty good shape, I wasn't in them much though haha. Lots of tight, technical shots needed to stay in play. Although, its nice having trees for the ball to bounce back off of. Will definitely play again. Watch our for people walking the course as it will take longer than 4 hours. I started at 2:35 and we made it to the 10th hole at 4:45. Only played through 12 as the sprinklers came on. Great scenery and some very nice homes right along the holes

Cant go wrong at El Eonquistador

Whether you get to play Conquistador or Canada, you will love it. Both courses are 2-3 weeks into over/re-seeding, no more cart path only. Soft greens on Conquistador, sandy greens on Canada and sand traps are tough as they vary on both courses. Tee boxes and fairways are in phenomenal shape. Best of all are the mountain views, just spectacular!
