Gladstone Golf Course
Played On 05/19/2018Must Play!!
There was too much rain in the forecast to drive up to Greywalls, so we decided to play Gladstone for the first time instead of the Casino course. We could not be happier to finally get to play here. Its gonna be hard to find a more picturesque course in the midwest. The greens were PERFECT on the 3rd week of May. You can't beat the value of this course and highly recommend for golf and nature lovers!
Shorewood Golf Course
Played On 05/18/2018Glad we played Shorewood
We stopped at shorewood on our way through Green Bay. Course is built on a beautiful piece of land with a couple views of the bay on the campus of Wisconsin GB and even has a bar!. Some hilly holes present a fun challenge, and the greens were in great shape, very true and rolled fast enough. The fairways are in good shape but some of the rough areas had some hard ground,, but if you keep it straight your fine! Highly recommend to anyone who enjoys fun hilly layouts. Very friendly staff too,
Forest Lake Golf Club of Ocoee
Played On 02/26/2018Nice track
Played Forest Lake on vacation. They have a real nice range and multiple chipping areas. The greens were very well maintained. Some real nice par 3's . course played harder when the wind kicked up, i would play it again
The Eagles Golf Club - Forest
Played On 02/23/2018Must play
Played The Forest course 9:30 on a Friday morning, the course was in excellent conditions, greens were smooth, saw tons of wildlife, not too may homes . Being from Chicago, this is one of the best layouts I have played in Florida. Good amount of water on the forest course , but manageable. Play here on your vacation it is worth the drive and a great value around 50 bux.
Green Valley Country Club
Played On 02/21/2018Great course- great price
Green Valley was the first stop on our golf trip. The greens were in very good shape, bunkers were raked, the fairways for the most part were in good condition as well. Dont know how people could rate this course 2 stars?? It was $31 dollars after 10am and an awesome layout with good greens. This course has what some other courses that charge 3 times as much don't have .........a sweet layout !!!!
TimberStone Golf Course at Pine Mountain
Played On 10/04/2017Destination Golf
Came up with my dad from Chicago last week for mid week round. This was my 3rd time playing Timberstone, my dad's first. This is without a doubt one of the most picturesque courses I have played in the midwest. The greens were great , true and very undulating, definitely misread some putts but was very pleased with their condition. The rest of the course is in pristine shape, bunkers were very well maintained. If you like nature, elevation change, towering pines, and natural beauty, it is hard to find a better course than Timberstone anywhere. You do not need to be a 5 handicapper to enjoy a round here, It is very playable for a high handicapper Drive a few extra miles to play this course. Ive played in kohler, and many wisconsin /michigan top 10's . This is my favorite out of them all.
Foxford Hills Golf Club
Played On 10/02/2017Worth the drive
Foxy Hills is definitely worth the drive from Chicago, sign up for their newsletter for deals. Fun Layout, very challenging but wont beat a high handicapper over the head, The trees on the back 9 make this one of the better public course layouts around.
Reedsburg Country Club
Played On 09/09/2017Rolling layout and fast greens
Set up golf outing for my Brothers bachelor party Great design taking advantage of elevation change and natural setting. Greens were very fast and true, and overall course conditions were top notch. Definitely would return again if I was in the area and keep the ball under the cup an approach shots.
Riverside Golf Club
Played On 09/08/2017Great Greens - Awesome old school course
We vacation in the area and always play Riverside at least once a year. This former private club has nice range and 100 yard practice hole right on the river. The clubhouse and setting is a really neat aspect to this course, it feels like your back in time on an old country club. Don''t let the rating and slope fool you, if the wind kicks up off Lake Michigan a couple blocks away, the course plays tougher. Nice old trees outline the fairways. First two holes are great warm up holes and 2 is along the river, real nice par 3. Bluegrass fairways are very nicely maintained, you will get a good lie if you stay in the middle. The best part about this course is the condition of the greens. Fast and true, better than some private clubs I have played in Chicago and 42$ weekend green fee makes playing this course a no brainer
Hunter's Glen Golf Club
Played On 09/06/2017Great Layout !!!
We vacation in the Crivitz area and always make it point to play Hunter's Glen a couple times a year. The course has a nice blend of forest holes and links holes to keep the round interesting. There is some nice elevation change on the front 9, and while it has it challenges, this course is suitable for golfers of all levels. Love how the holes start links, go into the forrest, and finish links on both front and back 9.The greens are well maintained, just a couple holes in the forest had minor blemishes the fairway grass and bunkers were will maintained. Best way to describe this course is a less manicured mix between Timberstone and Sweetgrass . 60$ two- some has to be one of the best deals in Wisconsin
Tanna Farms Golf Club
Played On 08/05/2017Unique course
Played Tanna a couple times this year, really enjoyed the mix of different length par 3's. Really challenging par 4;s and 5's. Greens were good after heavy rains, Didnt really notice the houses , they are far off enough. Definitely worth a play, and definitely scorable from the right tees.
Sweetgrass Golf Club
Played On 07/01/2017Worth the drive
We have played Sweetgrass three times now and enjoy it more every time we play it. Awesome range. The conditions are always perfect, smooth greens and perfect fairways and bunkers. I like to describe it as a modern links course with 5-6 holes of northwoods forest sprinkled in the routing. Some memorable holes and some interesting shot selections make this a great golf experience. I would play a tee forward your first round at sweetgrass, the wind can make it longer than advertised. The casino and hotel make this a great value and course is worth the drive.
Greywalls Course at Marquette Golf Club
Played On 05/20/2017Top 100
I have played 5 courses in the so called top 100 in the midwest. This place is by far one of the best courses I will ever play and will be back next year. Played in the spring and conditions were perfect. One of the best layouts I have ever seen through the forest and through the mine. Worth the drive.
