The new greens are awful. I realize they changed them to save water but the old ones were decent and the new ones are really bad. They are extremely bumpy and uneven as well as some are fast and some are slow. The fairways are very thin and sparse. GPS on the cart is worthless. Lots of blind shots and holes running parallel to each other which makes it a very dangerous course to play. Golf balls coming from all directions so keep your head on a swivel. Kid at the bag drop just sat in a cart and stared at his phone both before and after I played. This course is worth $10 tops. Lots of better courses around for the same price or less

Course is in flawless condition. Literally perfect. I got there an hour early because I needed to get to Phoenix to catch a flight home. I looked on the tee sheet on golf now beforehand to make sure I could get out early and every time was open for 4 players between 10am and my time at 10:54am so I thought it would be no problem. The “pro” inside gave me a song and dance about how my hotdeal time was cheaper than what the fee to play at 10am was so I would need to pay the difference to go out early. Like I don’t know how golfnow works. I played 254 rounds last year booked on golfnow. These times are given to golfnow by the course to sell. The course doesn’t always control the price. Nonetheless, what’s the big deal anyway? It’s wide open. Just before I got angry he begrudgingly said I could go out early but I would hit the wall of members so be warned. Whatever, course conditions were fantastic.

I have played here many times over the last few years. It’s near my house and is always in decent shape. The pace of play is usually a little slow but today was awful. First, there wasn’t a ranger on the course AT ALL. There wasn’t even a beverage cart. Not a single person on the course that worked there. It took 2 hours and 45 minutes to play the front 9 and 2 hours 12 minutes to play the first 7 holes on the back. I called the shop twice and the golf academy staff told me there wasn’t anyone available to come out and monitor play. What if a player got hurt? What if a cart broke down? What if there was an incident? This place is a joke. I’ll never play here again

Golfnow needs to do a better job of posting aerification notices. It's incredibly frustrating to drive 35 miles and find the greens punched. There was absolutely no warning of this on golfnow when I made the time. I called golfnow to ask why there wasn't a warning and they just passed the blame to the course. That's garbage. It's GolfNow's duty to keep up with the courses schedules so that their customers aren't disappointed. I see reviews quite often complaining about this. No wonder there are courses dumping golfnow and getting their own tee time apps or websites etc. STEP IT UP GOLFNOW!

This course has a decent layout but the greens are awful. Very very slow and very hard. Not a good combo. The bunkers have no sand and are literally hardpan. Not worth what they are charging. This should be a $25-$30 course and only worth playing if NOTHING else is available

Course is in ok condition. The undulated greens are loaded with ball marks and are very slow. I'm sure it's to keep pace of play going due to the undulations. Not worth 50 bucks.

The course couldn't be in worse condition. Poorly punched greens with plugs left everywhere, extremely long and sloppy wet fairways, bare spots everywhere. No sand in the bunkers, not a ranger in site. This place is now a dump. One of the worst courses in the Scottsdale area. Save your money and your time. You're better off putting some balls down in an empty parking lot with a tin can for a hole.

This place was in great shape a month ago. What happened? Bare spots everywhere, no rangers, and my biggest complaint is that the greens obviously hadn't been mown for several days. Very bumpy and slow.

We teed off just before 9am. When we got to the 2nd tee box, there was 3 groups waiting to tee off and one group in the fairway and one up on the green. I couldn't believe it was the backed up. Finally the ranger came around when we reached the 5th teebox, the ranger was the same person sitting behind the counter talking to one of the pro shop guys when we checked in. He said to us that it was backed up all way throughout the course. We never saw him again the rest of the day. Upon finishing our round at 2:27pm, yes that is 5 hours and 32 minutes, the gentleman that cleaned our clubs said that the third group out was the slow group and apologized to us for the slow play. This is absolutely ridiculous. This place needs to learn how to run a golf course. If you are going to send out 9 hole play on the back nine that is fine and isn't a worry to the 18 hole players. Get your staff out there on the front right away so that this kind of stuff doesn't happen. I cannot believe what we had to deal with here.

This course used to be great. Several years ago it was pristine and a lot of fun to play. Now, The fairways are bare and most are even just dirt. The greens are so hard that you MUST land the ball short of them to get it to stay on the surface. I hit a full 9 iron into a par three and the ball hit the front of the green and bounced literally 10 feet in the air and rolled all the way over the green. When I asked the outside service about was has happened to the course one replied "that is how its been around here for awhile". This course is virtually unplayable right now.

This course is summed up in one word....awful. Horrible layout with very poor conditions. Only thing they have going for them is the cute girl in the proshop. I wouldn't play here again if they paid me too.

This course is not even worth 10 bucks. Greens are very bad, fairways dont have much grass at all, and there was a lot of "summertime" golfers out there making it a 5 hour round. The only ranger I saw had a ball retriever and was getting balls out of the lake on number 9. He never went around the course. Pathetic for a Tuesday afternoon when its 107 out. This place needs management help badly.

Teed off at noon on Sunday and played the front 9 in just over an hour....great. Pulled up to the 11th tee and there were 4 groups on the tee box waiting behind a 6SOME!!!! I called the shope 3 times and talked to a female who kept saying the ranger would come out to fix things and NOBODY, I repeat, NOBODY ever came out. It took 3 hours and 10 minutes to play the back 9. Absolutely unacceptable. I have played here several times over the past month but I seriously doubt I will ever be back again.

Layout is interesting but the condition of the fairways is awful. Very wet dormant grass....much like playing off of firm mud. The greens were nice but being aerofied the next day. Not worth more than $25.

This is a tougher golf course, especially from the Tips. Narrow landing areas and small greens make it a course that requires precision. I t was very enjoyable and I would have given 5 stars if the greens had been cut down.

Good layout with some very strange holes. Lots of elevation changes and several fun shots. Some greens were punched which I dont understand why there was no icon on the tee time but Im noticing that is a regular thing this time of year on this site. So be it.

Very interesting layout with a lot of elevation change. Course is pretty tight and requires some good shotmaking. Some holes are tough because of blind tee shots....now that I have played it, I know where to hit it. Overall a lot of fun and would play again.

The greens are pretty good but he fairways are very hard and dry and could use some water. Otherwise it is a fun course.

I am a local, I play golf 5 to 6 times a week, and I have played this course many times because it is a fun layout. However, this time, I walked into the shop and stated who I was and what time I was playing and the guy behind the counter sarcastically said "Oh, you got one of those ridiculous deals from golf now huh." I said, "yes I did book it on golf now." He then sarcastically replied, "yeah one of those screamin deals." "Well I don't have a starter today so just go to the tee when it is open. You don't have to take a clean cart since you got such a screamin deal." Then he walked me outside and once again repeated how screamin the deal I got was to the outside service attendant and told him to give me any cart.
The course was in decent shape and there was nobody out there so I played in 2 and a half hours. There was no beverage cart this day either. I walked back into the shop after my round and asked what the replay rate was. He replied "I dont know how much you paid so you will have to pay the full price.".......The Desert Canyon website says replays are at a 40% discount, My entire point for writing this review is that if they do not want to be on golfnow or want anybody playing the course that gets a time on golfnow, why be on golf now? I will play the 15 rounds a year or so that I used to play here across the street at Eagle Mountain. Its a much better golf course anyway.

Good layout and the fairways are perfect. The greens are very hard and bumpy. Another few weeks and it should be perfect.
