Verde River Golf & Social Club
Played On 4/29/2013Good golf course.
Nice course.....if you haven't played it before, it is tough to know where to hit the ball on some holes. A yardage guide would be nice. The course itself is in good shape.
The Duke at Rancho El Dorado
Played On 4/24/2013Great layout
This is a great layout. My only complaint is that the greens are a little bumpy and the fairway grass is a little uneven....meaning I had several lies that had longer grass behind my ball. Otherwise it is a fun course and would definitely play again for the $25 price I got on golfnow.
Kokopelli Golf Course
Played On 4/18/2013Its just ok
The greens are horrible. Very very hard and bumpy. If you land a shot on the front of the green it will roll all the way to the back....guaranteed. The fairways are in decent shape. I wouldn't play here again for more than $20

I have played here many times over the years. The course is fun and has many challenging shots however the green are very firm and a little grainy right now. I played the first 10 holes in an hour and then played the last 8 in 3 hours and 10 minutes. I realize I was a single behind some groups but I never once saw a staff member come around the course to even see if the guests were ok let alone help pace of play. When I told the outside service guy about the slow play he responded "that is everyday here. You are lucky to have played the front 9 so quickly." Interesting comment but I appreciate the truth. Must be how they do business there. There are too many other pretty courses that are in better shape.
Falcon Golf Club
Played On 3/18/2013Ok for the price
The greens are ok....slow, furry, and bumpy. Its is a decent layout though. Not bad for $29. Waited on every hole too.
Corte Bella Golf Club

Union Hills Golf & Country Club

The course is very poorly run by the guys in the shop. Maybe they were having a bad day but when I played there they made several mistakes. First, they told me that my 1pm tee time was gonna be delayed by 20 minutes because of a morning frost delay. No problem. However, it was 1:58pm when I was finally called to the tee. Second, the ranger came around once on the course and it happened to be when there were 5 groups on the 4th tee box. He assured us play would speed up beginning on the next hole. When we pulled up to the 6th tee box, there were 3 groups there. We got to know the people two groups in front of us and two group behind us pretty well seeing as we saw them on EVERY tee thereafter and never again saw the ranger. Finally, I saw the "pro" in the shop tell a woman that she has to play with who she is paired with because "she has to understand that when she uses golf now to make a tee time she has to abide by the rules that accompany the time". I saw two 3somes of women tee off before this womans time that she could have been moved up to play with and probably enjoyed the company she was with waiting on every hole.
The guys in the shop just shoved people out 5 minutes apart and were not honest about the delay up front. There is a reason tee times are spread out. Its for pace of play. Sure a few groups would have left if the had said the frost delay was really an hour and not 20 minutes. But at least people wouldnt be upset about being lied to and never want to play there again. This is my sentiment and seemed to be the same for the 20 or so people I met while I was out there for 5 hours.
Palmbrook Golf Club
Played On 1/10/2013Decent Course
Typical Sun City course. Very easy and not much to it. Course is in pretty good shape but very wet and even muddy in spots. Every tee shot picked up mud on my ball. Wouldnt pay more than $30 for it.
